ICYMI…The Kiwanis Club of Waco has been busy this first quarter of 2026. We’ve had presentations from CASA of McLennan County, Mission Waco, and from many others serving our community. Our own Reece Flood even spoke about the history of St. Patrick’s Day. It’s an exciting time to be a Kiwanian. Come join us on Tuesdays at noon at Uncle Dan’s Ribhouse on Lake Air Drive. We look forward to seeing you!

It was a fast and furious finish to the 2024-2025 Kiwanis year. We finished the year with fantastic programs and a report from the Kiwanis Club of Waco Foundation Board regarding its capital campaign. Because of the generous donations of our members, we hope to be able to expand the number of scholarships we give to deserving high school seniors. If you want to make a difference in the lives of children, come join us.

The Kiwanis Club of Waco has been hard at work this summer. In addition to giving out five $2,500 scholarships to deserving high school seniors, we also had a successful golf tournament raising more than $12,000 for the Arc of McLennan County. We have also had a number of interesting presentations this summer. Mike Carruth from SuperSlow Zone, Christine Schroeder-Morten from Friends for Life, Dr. Cory Carbonara from Baylor University, McLennan County Clerk Andy Harwell, and Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Gina Parker all presented to the group about how they are making a difference in our community. It’s a great time to be a Kiwanian. Come join us!

Really proud of these young folks. In terms of their character and academic achievements! If you would like to contribute to the Kiwanis Club of Waco Foundation endowment, please message me. This is the seed money for these scholarships. Our endowment has been built with mostly small donations from folks that believe in the future of our Central Texas kids.

Did you see our incredible scholarhsip recepiants featured in the newspaper this week? We wish these students the best of luck as they begin their next chapter!

We also want to thank everyone who has supported the Kiwanis Club of Waco Foundation over the years. Your financial support helps us recognize and reward some amazing high school gradutes from the Waco area each year.
