The Time Is Now

Why I am Running I am running for the Waco Independent School District School Board At-Large, Place 6 position as a parent and partner of the district who believes in the students, teachers and administrators. I will bring fresh eyes and a new fresh vision. I want the district to rely on my unique skills to connect to our students and the community, investing into the families to elevate the district as a whole. This includes spending time with our great students and staff on our campuses where others may be reluctant to work. I want the community to know that I believe in Waco Independent School District and I will be a strong advocate who supports them to ensure that we are successful and excelling in every arena of education. The time is now to: ⁃ Ensure the basics are being taught at the primary level: reading writing and arithmetic - Develop an educational funnel where our students can transition from high school into economic opportunities - Create a supportive and well managed district that will improve teacher recruitment and retention - Implement equal access and resources for all students district wide ⁃ Preserve and improve our neighborhood schools to keep them open, strong and performing at a high level ⁃ Secure safe environments for students where they feel supported and free to learn - Connecting the school board to the community with a level of transparency and accountability
