We stand alongside our brothers and sisters at DPS during this difficult time and we keep Trooper Romero and his family in our prayers.

Today, Texas DPS Trooper Sergio Romero was killed in the line of duty near Childress in a vehicle accident.

Trooper Romero leaves behind his wife, two young children, and a law enforcement family that is mourning an unimaginable loss.

We stand with his loved ones and our brothers and sisters at the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Rest easy, Trooper Romero. Your watch is over.

On this Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We remember their courage and are forever grateful for their service.

The 100 Club proudly joined in today’s Peace Officer Memorial Service. It was a thoughtful and heartfelt service honoring those who have died in the line of duty.

During this National Peace Officers Memorial Day we are reminded at why our Club’s mission is so important. To give back to those who give their all, because no one should have to grieve alone. Especially when it’s an individual we lost while protecting our communities.

Keynote speaker, Waco City Manager Ryan Holt, gave special tribute to the club. We thank him and all those who have given their support to the 100 Club, and our local First Responders.

Today marks National Police Week and the 100 Club Heart of Texas would like to take a moment to thank each and every Police Officer who has served their communities with honor, integrity, and trust. 💙

The oath each of you have taken means more to us than we can describe. You have chosen to serve, chosen to protect your communities, and chosen to stand for something greater than yourselves.

National Police Week ends by recognizing National Peace Officers Memorial Day, observed annually on May 15, to honor federal, state, and local officers killed in the line of duty.
