It’s Time to Level Up!

In Scouting, the finish line is actually a launchpad. While many think the journey ends at Eagle or age 18, Venturing and Exploring offer the "Next Level"—giving young adults high-adventure experiences and independence that a traditional troop might not be able to offer.

Case in Point: Venturing Crew 376 at San Saba
Last weekend, our Clifton-based Crew took on the San Saba Mountain Man Camporee. This wasn't your standard campout; it was a high-intensity race through 8 elite events like tomahawk throwing, gold panning, and canoeing.
The weekend was the ultimate test of the "Be Prepared" motto. When heavy storms turned their campsite into a literal pond overnight, the Crew didn't miss a beat. Thanks to their proactive prep and teamwork, they stayed dry, stayed cheerful, and stayed focused on the competition!

The Results
The Crew’s specialized skills resulted in an incredible haul of awards:
• 3rd Place: Tunnel Trudge, Gold Panning, and Scout Law Bridge.
• 2nd Place: Canoeing and Patrol Spirit.
• A New Record: In Fire Starting, they burned the string in 10 minutes—the fastest time organizers have seen in 13 years!
• Overall: Our Crew took 3rd Place Overall, earning each member a new backpacking stove!

Your Next Adventure Awaits
If you’ve done it all in your troop and are looking for new challenges, don't "age out." Join a Venturing Crew or Explorer Post. The records, the rewards, and the memories are waiting for you.

Celebrating Leadership in Waco! 🦅

We are incredibly proud to announce that three of our Heart O’ Texas Eagle Scouts were honored today at the 2026 Waco Rotary Citizenship Awards.

Out of all the nominees, Willow Alexander (308G), Everett Jensen (308B), and Trenton Nemec (497) were each independently nominated by their schools and rose to the top as finalists! To top off this incredible achievement, each of these Scouts was awarded a scholarship to support their future endeavors.

A special shout-out to Everett Jensen, who was selected as the overall 2026 Waco Rotary Youth Citizenship award recipient. 🏆

These young leaders represent the very best of Scouting and our community. Please join us in congratulating Willow, Everett, and Trenton on their hard work and their new scholarships!
