As Star of Hope, our mission is “To spread hope and joy to Wabasha-Kellogg children, families, and seniors who need a helping hand at Christmas and throughout the year!”

We recently made a helping hand donation of $5,000 to the Wabasha Food Share! We love to continue to help our community by spreading hope and joy to others! ❤️

🚗🎁 A Big Thank You to Russ Meyer! 🎁🚗

The very generous Russ Meyer, CEO of California Overland, has once again stepped up to support our Toys for Tots efforts. On December 17th, Russ will pick up our gifts in Rochester, MN, and make the journey to bring joy to local families in need.

In the past two years, the roads have been ice-covered, but that hasn’t stopped Russ and his trusty “sleigh” from delivering these gifts. Special thanks also to Tony Purvis of Rotary, who helps make sure the journey goes smoothly.

These gifts will be combined with local contributions at Faith Lutheran Church—our very own Santa’s workshop. Last year, 137 kids received toys, and this year, we’ll be serving 270 kids from 124 families across the Star of Hope and Toys for Tots programs.

Thank you, Russ Meyer, for once again providing your help and your sleigh. We couldn’t do this without you! 🎅🎄

As always, there are christmas trees located at Wabasha Kellogg High School and Elementary! These trees are designated for hat and mitten donations! All donations go to Star of Hope to help kids and families in need! Donations accepted until December 17th!

⭐️ Simple Acts of Kindness ⭐️

The story below shows the impact that even the smallest gesture can have. For so many children, something as simple as a new shirt or sweatshirt can make a world of difference, bringing them not only comfort, but also hope. Please read 😇

🤍 “Last winter I purchased clothing and hygiene products for a brother and sister who both loved school. The expressions of gratitude on their faces were worth much more than the gesture ever could be. I saw the young boy wear one of the sweatshirts multiple times. He told me, “It’s my favorites sweatshirt now.” I had a package of shirts that did not fit the girl, so I held on to them and passed them on to a student in 5th grade who literally put her arms in the air and said, “YES”. She wears many items that seem too small and often has tank tops on even in the cold winter. The shirts hung past her waist and gave her “breathing room”.

Thank you to everyone who helps us spread joy and hope in our community. Together, we can continue to make these moments possible. 💖

❤️ Making a difference ❤️

We are thrilled to share a heartwarming story that highlights the incredible impact of the Star of Hope Fund, which is designed to provide funding to Wabasha Kellogg and St. Felix staff so that they are able to help kids and families when there is a need! Over the next 5 days we will continue to share stories of how this funding is impacting our kids in the community! 🤍

⭐️ ”I was fortunate enough to use some of the Star of Hope funds to provide winter gear (coat, hat and boots) to a family in need. This family was worried about how they were going to be able to get winter gear and winter clothes for their children. When I delivered these items to the family’s house, the smiles and signs of relief were evident. They could not stop thanking me for helping them. As I left the house, I was so happy that I was able to do this for them. I knew they were beyond appreciative of what Star of Hope had done for them.”
