Since 1978, so many players have passed through Kiwanis Soccer, and we are incredibly grateful to have shared in their foundational years.

We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to two upcoming seniors who grew up playing in our program and are now moving on to collegiate soccer: Ericka Lonnstrom and Aaliyah Hotaling.

Congratulations on your commitments to play at the college level. We are so proud of you both and wish you the absolute best in your future endeavors.

Opening Day of the 2026 Kiwanis Soccer season was incredible! Our season is now in full swing! It was awesome to see so many smiles, so much laughter, so many players enjoying the game of soccer, lots of players cheering on players, coaches cheering on players, parents cheering on players, and best of all, so many memories being made.

Are you wondering what the JH in the heart on your child’s Kiwanis shirt stands for?

Jim Hladun was a teacher, a friend, a coach,
a mentor, and just one of the most incredible humans we have ever met. His love for the community was steadfast, and the way he bled purple and gold for our school was legendary. At most home games and so many away games, you would find Jim on the sidelines cheering on our girls’ team. On any given Saturday morning, he would come to the snack shack and sell snacks to the community, smiling as big as he could at the amazing sight before him. Hundreds of people from the community gathered together, cheering on the future athletes of our sports programs and children just having fun!

Something you may not know about Jim is that he was one of the founding fathers for not only New Scotland Kiwanis Soccer but also New Scotland Soccer Club, and he was the driving force that brought girls’ soccer to the Voorheesville School District. He was also a long standing Kiwanian serving this community in countless ways since 1974.

Unfortunately, a few months back, Jim passed away. This season, we wanted to honor Jim and his commitment to this community and this program. We are forever grateful for his leadership, vision, and commitment to the community.

It's Opening Day for the 2026 Kiwanis Soccer season! We are very excited to start the season with everyone. Looks like we'll have fantastic weather for the games today!

Please be sure to read through the Opening Day email that was sent on Thursday. There is a lot of useful information in there that you should know. Also, the parking situation will be difficult due to the construction equipment, so park according to the guidelines mentioned before.

Be sure to stop by the Voorheesville Soccer Car Wash at Hannaford Plaza in Voorheesville before or after your game today. They will be there from 9AM-1PM. All proceeds help out the amazing soccer players at Voorheesville High School!

Opening Day for our 2026 Kiwanis Baseball season is in the books! After months of planning and coordinating the details to make our season a successful one, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to begin our season. Hearing all of the coaches teaching their players, the loud cheers from each players fan club, and the laughter/excitement from the players was the perfect soundtrack for such a nice spring day.

We would like to thank all of our Kiwanis volunteers, our family and friends who helped us, and our Kiwanis Baseball families for joining us this year! It's so awesome to be part of such a wonderful community. We are looking forward to a fantastic season ahead.
