The theme of today's meeting was 'Transformation'. Chris Condo (President) lead the meeting as the Toastmaster. Thom Holland gave his speech titled, "The Power of the Pause". In his speech, he focused on these five points:
1. Give the Audience Time to Process the statement.
2. Signal Importance and Add Impact.
3. Create Clear Structure and Transitions
4. Build Anticipation and Drama
5. Control Your Pace and Boost Confidence

Rachael Ore led the Table Topics session and the General Evaluator was Brenda Beckett. We had a round robin evaluation of Thom's speech.

Winners today:
Best Speaker- Thom Holland
Best Table Topics Speaker- Gemma Callander
Best Evaluator- Ros Atwood

We had a fun hybrid meeting this morning. The theme was, 'Getting to Know You'.

Al Ghopeh gave us a very interesting speech, "Know Your HOA". The fees continued to climb so he joined the board. He will use the skills that he learned at Toastmasters to be an advocate for the other home owners. That was followed by Ros Atwood's speech, "Sister Antics". It was a fun loving and heartfelt story of her and her sister's sojourn across Europe in the 70s.

Chris Condo regaled us with his Table Topics questions that fit the theme.

Gemma Callander followed as General Evaluator with Thom Holland and Noelle Zhang evaluating the speakers. Both Thom and Noelle went over time. Thom turned his 2 to 3 minute evaluation into a 4 and half minute speech. He apparently had a lot to say. Watch the time Thom!

Next week's meeting's theme is 'Transformation'! this ought to be fun. 😀

Today’s theme was ‘Goals & Intentions’, the word of the day was Aspirations. We had two fine speeches from Rachael Ore and Ana Sorreno. Sean Edgar lead Table Topics with some very entertaining pictures asking us about our goals & intentions concerning the photos. Marjorie Love was the General Evaluator and Gemma Callander was the Toastmaster.

This morning Cora Gaane gave a wonderful presentation, "Finding New Members". The presentation had very helpful information and her touch of humor kept the enthusiasm high. Al Ghopeh was the Toastmaster and Brenda Beckett led the Table Topics portion with some thoughtful and entertaining questions. Cora won Best Speaker, Ros Atwood won Best Table Topics Speaker and Thom Holland won Best Evaluator. Congratulations to all!

Wow, what a meeting today, we had several first-time visitors. April Edwards, Ali Shomaker & Amy. The theme was 'It's a Figure of Speech' and the word of the day was 'Idiom'. Thom Holland led the Table Topics portion of our meeting with questions about idioms from all over the world. Laura De Anda led the evaluation portion as the General Evaluator.
