Sequoia Community Corps (SCC): The SCC offers vocational training in the trades of weatherization, urban forestry, conservation education, and recycling, including the recycling of CRV beverage containers, e-waste, used oil, and waste tires. SCC has su

ccessfully operated in Tulare and Kings Counties for the past 33 years, providing more than 4,000 young adults with valuable job training and educational opportunities. Workforce Development: Provides no-cost employment placement and training to Tulare County residents. Walk-in assistance is available at three One-Stop locations in Visalia (4025 W. Noble , Visalia CA 93277 Ph: 559-713-5000); Tulare (304 E. Tulare Avenue, Tulare CA 93274 Ph: 559-684-1987); Dinuba (400 W. Tulare Avenue, Dinuba CA 93618 Ph: (559) 591-5701); and Porterville (1061 W. Henderson, Porterville CA 93257 Ph: 559-788-1440). Youth Workforce Development: Provides Work experience, training, and job placement services to Tulare County residents age 16-21. Walk-in assistance is available at four locations: Visalia (312 N.W. 3rd Avenue, Visalia, CA 93291 Ph: 559-732-4194; Porterville (1061 W. Henderson, Porterville CA 93257 Ph: 559-788-1440); Tulare (304 E. Tulare Avenue, Tulare CA 93274 Ph: 559-684-1987) and Cutler/Orosi (12384 Avenue 416, Orosi CA 93647 Ph: 559-528-1095). Energy Services: Offers programs that improve the health, safety, and financial stability of Tulare County residents. Services include home weatherization, utility payment assistance, and lead-based paint removal. Energy Services also oversees two Drought Resource Centers providing relief to residents negatively affected by the drought. Community Initiatives: CSET's Community Initiatives Department manages a variety of community and economic development programs that promote community visioning, equip community leaders, and strengthen the residential, business, and familial assets of local communities.

Thank you to TC Hope and the Visalia Rawhide for an amazing night of baseball! Thanks to TC Hope's generous donation, the VNC was able to attend the Rawhide game on May 19 and enjoy a memorable evening together.

The Rawhide also helped shine a spotlight on the VNC and the incredible work being done throughout our community. From throwing out the first pitch to participating in an on-air interview, it was truly a special night.

CSET hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Celebration in Porterville to recognize the hard work and dedication of our VITA volunteers during this tax season!

More than 40 attendees joined the celebration, including volunteers, family members, CSET staff, and an IRS representative who helped recognize and thank our volunteers for their outstanding service to the community.

The evening included volunteer recognition, certificates, dinner, and a celebration of the incredible impact our volunteers made throughout the season. Together, the Porterville VITA team helped complete more than 1,100 tax returns and returned over $2 million in refunds back to the local community.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for your commitment, dedication, and service to the communities we serve!

Behind every successful tax season is a team of dedicated volunteers making a difference across Tulare County.

From high school and college students to veterans and community members, our VITA volunteers stepped up this season to support local families and provide valuable tax preparation services to the community.

These success stories highlight the passion, dedication, and impact our volunteers bring to every site — including Dinuba High School, Butterfield High School, the Porterville Site, and the Visalia Site.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for your hard work, commitment, and service this tax season. Your efforts continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of so many throughout our communities.

On Monday, several residents joined Nancy and Amanda from the Master Gardeners (UC Cooperative Extension volunteer program) to plant vegetables generously donated by Mazzei Nursery.

With everyone’s teamwork and dedication, the garden is one step closer to a fruitful harvest ahead.
