This Saturday will be a day filled with learning, in addition to shopping! Guests at our show and sale will have an opportunity to try hands on projects in straw weaving, cardboard weaving, kumihimo, cd/dvd looms. We also have paper weaving and spinning projects - free fun for the whole family!

Volunteers from the Hanford Future Farmers of America will be teaching these make and take activities!

You asked, we delivered! At last year’s sale some first time visitors said there was a lack of signage indicating where to go for the sale. Look at this marvelous signage that is now planted on the front lawn of the Exeter Memorial Building along with the building marquee, telling one and all about our show and sale this Saturday! Thank you to Monica and Mike for planning and installing this great addition to our sale! It is there to guide you into the sale and also to hopefully catch some drive by shoppers this weekend. You can’t miss us now!

Do you love exploring the great outdoors? Here are two suggested walks you can enjoy with friends after your visit to our show and sale.

The Eastside Regional Path in Visalia is just off of Highway 198 in Visalia. A new 0.8 mile paved trail is in place, with plans for development of an entire regional park coming in future years.

You could also visit one of the Sequoia Riverlands Trust preserves which are open sunrise to sunset. Kaweah Oaks Preserve (also off of Highway 198) is highly recommended!

Eastside Regional Park is a large dirt field with a well-maintained paved path around its perimeter. It is a popular spot for dog walking and recreation. Here is another add on activity for next Saturday as you plan your day at the Handweavers of the Valley Show and Sale. The Woodlake Botanical Gardens are awash in color throughout the year, as the photos below will show you. There is an easy 3.3 mile loop walking trail around the adjacent Bravo Lake. Stop at the Runway Cafe in Woodlake for breakfast or lunch while you are out that way.

If you have ever visited our guild meetings (and all are welcome to come and see what we are all about), you know that “show and tell” is one of our favorite guild activities. Everyone brings items they recently made and shares information on how they did it.
Show and Tell provides so much inspiration to try something new or maybe pick up a project that has not been played with in awhile.

Our prolific guild members are bringing some of their best show and tell items to display at our October 24 event. Look for our Inspiration Gallery onsite and if you are particularly inspired to learn more, talk to the maker about how they did it! Inspiration Gallery items are not for sale but we want to give everyone a chance to see and appreciate the incredible range of talents within our guild!

After you shop for handmade items and browse through our Weavers Attic for bargains, why not make a day of it and stroll around charming downtown Exeter?
