FIELD TRIP: Sunday, October 25th, 7:45am - Pond Hopping

Meet in Tipton at the Shell Station on Olive Street just east of Hwy. 99 at 7:45am. After birding the Tipton Water Treatment Plant, we will visit two additional hotspots off Hwy 43 to look for migrating shorebirds, wintering ducks and other waterfowl.

Dr. Robert Urtecho, former COS Dean of Science, presents "The Amazing and Fantastic Pollination Adaptations that Ensure the Survival of Flowering Plants and Their Pollinators". This will be a fascinating look at the coevolution of flowering plants and their pollinators. Topics will include hummingbird adaptations to the California flora and specialized plant modifications to attract bees and wasps.
