Throwback to Governor Newsom joining community partners to sign legislation that brings them closer to safe drinking water. In 2019, he joined Sanger residents to sign SB 200 into law, and in 2024 he joined East Orosi residents to sign AB 805. Looking forward to seeing future actions alongside California communities.

Over the weekend, the legislature agreed to fund SAFER at $171M for the 2026-27 fiscal year. This funding comes in the form of $71M from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund and $100M from Prop 4. 💧

Durante el fin de semana, la legislatura acordó asignar 171 millones de dólares al programa SAFER para el año fiscal 2026-27. Estos fondos provienen de dos fuentes: 71 millones del Fondo de Reducción de Gases de Efecto Invernadero y 100 millones de la Propuesta 4.💧

Over 900,000 Californians have access to safe drinking water because of SAFER, but too many Californians are still waiting for solutions. Governor Gavin Newsom, don’t walk back on the Human Right to Water, and keep SAFER fully funded so communities like Plainview can have access to drinking water.
