Last week, Central Coast partners and CWC staff provided comments and presented at the Central Coast Regional Board’s Alternative Water Supply Program Workshop. Our partners highlighted the importance of SAFER and the need to hold dischargers accountable.

🚧 East Orosi construction update:
The trailer located at 41842 Ione Rd has been removed, and the site is being prepared for the E. Orosi water storage tank. Construction for the new well has started. You can expect construction to install the main water lines. The next quarterly meeting will be on September 24th at 6 pm at Templo La Paz in E. Orosi (13920 Ave 418). If you live in E. Orosi and have any emergencies with your water or construction, please call Tulare County at 559-624-7000.

🚧 Actualización sobre la construcción en East Orosi:
Se ha retirado la casa móvil ubicada en el 41842 de Ione Rd y se está preparando el terreno para el tanque de almacenamiento de agua de East Orosi. Ya han comenzado la construcción del nuevo pozo. Se llevarán a cabo trabajos de construcción para instalar las tuberías principales de agua; tenga en cuenta que habrá un cierre de la calle Ione Rd. La próxima reunión se celebrará el 24 de septiembre a las 6:00 p. m. En el Templo La Paz de East Orosi (13920 Ave 418). “Thanks to the funding from SAFER we get bottled water, but we know that’s only a short-term solution... My community and I have been working alongside the Community Water Center to develop a long-term solution. Currently, we are in the design phase, but to get to the construction phase, we are dependent on SAFER receiving the funding every year.” -Isabel Morales, resident of the Royal Oaks

Testing nearly a decade ago revealed a wider spectrum of contaminants in the drinking water of households located along Johnson, McGinnis and Live Oak roads in the Royal Oaks area.
