Rise & Shine Balloon Rally

The Rise & Shine Balloon Rally is organized by A Little Rae of Hope held in Viroqua, Wisconsin.

The Rise & Shine Balloon Rally would like to welcome Pilot Jeff Bennett, flying the balloon “Soul Shine”!

Jeff took his first balloon ride with Chuck Noris's stunt double (Kinnie Gibson) in 1997 when he was volunteering at a local Balloon Race in Tulsa. Kinnie and Jeff became fast friends and Jeff ended up crewing and flying with him for many years. Jeff has flown more than 750 hours in 43 different balloons, 11 of which were special shapes including Tall Steve, Puddles, Splash, Symbaloo, Adelaide, and Noah's Ark. Jeff has also flown in 9 different countries on 4 continents and has had the pleasure of sharing the experience of ballooning with more than 8280 passengers.

The Rise & Shine Balloon Rally would like to welcome Pilot John Bullock, flying the balloon “Bubbles”!

John is a Private Lighter than Air Pilot who started flying balloons back in 2001 aftering gaining interest after receiving a ride at the 1999 Hudson Hot Air Affair. John has two children, Elizabeth and Zane who are both student pilots and his fiance, JuliAnn is his Crew Chief and Head Photographer.

The Rise & Shine Balloon Rally would like to welcome Pilot Kaden Hunter, flying the balloon “Somebody Knows”!

Kaden started working with Hot Air Balloons as a crew member for a local Fox Valley pilot. Throughout the last couple of years, his love for ballooning grew and sparked his interest in becoming a hot air balloon pilot. Kaden received his pilot's license in 2023, and is looking forward to continuing to travel the country attending different balloon festivals. Kaden’s balloon is an Experimental Aircraft that was sewn in his basement in 2024.

The Rise & Shine Balloon Rally would like to welcome Pilot John Ross, flying the balloon “Shootin’ the Breeze”!

John has been involved in ballooning since 1992. Over the years John has owned five different systems over the years. John likes to participate in many different balloon festivals each year, primarily in the Southwest and Midwest. John has also flown in Mexico, Canada, Europe, and New Zealand. John recently retired his Hot Air Balloon Ride Business after 20 years of flying. He absolutely enjoys sharing our sport with the public at large.

The Rise & Shine Balloon Rally would like to welcome Pilot Lynn Huppert, flying the balloon “Czech Up”!

Lynn has been involved in ballooning since 1985 and has logged over 700 hours in hot air balloons and over 19,000 hours in all aircraft. One of Lynns most memorable flights was taking a 77 year old woman for a ride back in 1987. During flight, she told Lynn that when she was 7 years old, she went for her first airplane ride in 1917. She then went on to say that her pilot was Orville Wright! Lynn travels with his Co-Pilot and Crew Chief, Buster, his 9 year old Golden Retriever.
