Every animal in our care is rescued, vetted, and loved in foster homes while they wait for their forever family.

Say a prayer… we have dogs in the air! ✈️🐾

This morning 35 rescue pets are heading toward brighter futures. Caribbean Paws is preparing to welcome 19 dogs and 8 cats to Virginia Beach tomorrow morning, while the remaining pets continue on to one of our rescue partners.

We are incredibly thankful to all of the fosters stepping up to help make this transport possible. Because of our amazing foster network, we were able to help nearly every animal scheduled to travel. Only one dog, Sandra, had to stay behind due to lack of a foster home. She is hoping to fly in a carry-on bag on the 9th if we can find a foster or adopter for her by then. 💔

These pets are leaving behind stressful shelter life and uncertainty for the chance to decompress in loving homes where we can learn their true personalities, help them adjust, and ultimately place them with the right forever families.

Transport days take an enormous village, rescuers and flight volunteers on island, drivers, volunteers, fosters, adopters, coordinators, and supporters all working together to save lives.

Tatum is settling beautifully into his new foster home and hoping his forever family is out there searching for a little extra love and LOTS of kisses This sweet 1.5-year-old neutered boy weighs about 15 lbs and has quickly shown what a loving, adaptable companion he can be. Tatum is currently living in an apartment and doing great! He doesn’t bark excessively, settles nicely in his crate without whining, and is comfortable with everyday noises like traffic, music, and people talking. Tatum loves people and does well with kids. He’s social and affectionate, but also independent enough to entertain himself with toys or relax quietly in his crate when he’s ready for downtime. He does have a slightly higher energy level and enjoys activity and attention, but he’s also eager to please and adjusting well to home life. His foster says his only quirks so far are a little excited peeing when he gets really happy and some leash pulling, both very manageable and common for a young dog still learning. Tatum can be a little unsure around larger dogs at first, but overall he is an extremely sweet boy with a loving personality and so much potential. This little guy is more than ready for a family of his own

Foster funny moment caught on security camera:
Aqua is officially too smart for her own good 😂🐾

After rolling around in the mud, Aqua was sentenced to about 10 minutes in the backyard while her foster mom got things ready to clean her up. Unfortunately for everyone involved… Aqua had a case of FOMO. Security camera footage captured Aqua carefully inspecting the fence, discovering a loose section at the bottom, and determinedly army-crawling her way through until she escaped into the front yard 🤦‍♀️ Thankfully, this little mastermind immediately ran straight to the front porch looking for her people.

This little girl is incredibly smart, determined, and full of personality. She’s doing great with the resident dog and always wants to play, although she has developed a funny habit of stealing the tennis ball directly out of his mouth during fetch and sprinting away with it. 🎾😂

Aqua is wonderful with men, kids, and respectful with the cat, though very curious about her. She’s still learning that hands reaching toward her mean love and pets, not something scary, and she continues to make progress every day. Aqua will need a patient adopter willing to give her time to build trust and settle in, but once she feels safe, her goofy and loving personality shines through.

Honestly… life with Aqua is never boring 💛

Sam and Cleo are absolutely thriving in their foster home! 🐾

These two play hard, nap hard, and are soaking up everything family life has to offer. They are super social, happy, well-adjusted pups with wonderful temperaments and so much love to give.

Their foster family has a senior graduating and family coming into town soon, so we are hoping to find Sam and Cleo new foster or forever homes by 6/9.

We expect them to grow to medium size, the perfect balance of big enough for adventures but still small enough to scoop up for cuddles. They get along great with kids and other dogs and could absolutely learn to live with cats too.

These pups are smart, loving, and ready to learn everything their future families have to teach them. Please help us spread the word so these deserving pups can find loving homes

We are so close to making our June 5th transport complete, but we need just a few more foster homes to get these dogs on the plane.

The reality is simple: if we cannot secure enough fosters, some of these dogs won’t get to fly.

Thor will be coming because we can’t leave one puppy behind from his litter. We recently brought all of Sandra’s puppies to safety, and we can’t bear the thought of leaving their mom behind after everything she has done for them.

Georgiana has been waiting for a chance for 8 long months. She is now a year old and deserves more than spending her life in a shelter crate waiting for someone to notice her.

Leia is a beautiful fluffy adult who just needs a chance. With a few days of patience and guidance in a home, we think she will do wonderfully.

Yago and Yamil are both sweet, full-grown dogs at about 20 pounds. They walk nicely on leash and are ready to leave shelter life behind. What they need now is a home where they can relax, decompress, and show us who they really are.

Fostering saves lives. It gives these dogs a chance to board that plane, start their new lives, and move one step closer to forever homes.

Please consider opening your home for a few weeks. Together, we can fulfill our mission of saving abandoned and neglected dogs in Puerto Rico and give these deserving dogs the future they have been waiting for.

If you're looking for a best friend who is equal parts sweet, smart, and fun, Koda might just be your guy! 💛

At 6.5 months old and almost 30 lbs, Koda is the perfect age to join a family and continue learning all the wonderful things life has to offer. This handsome boy is social, affectionate, and loves being around people. Whether he's exploring the yard, learning new commands, or soaking up attention, Koda approaches life with a happy heart and a wagging tail.

And speaking of tails... Koda's adorable little stub tail wiggles nonstop when he's excited, and it's impossible not to smile when you see it! 🥰

Koda is food motivated, eager to please, and already a great listener. He responds quickly to his name and picks up on new things fast, making him highly trainable and ready for whatever adventures his future family has in store.

Sadly, Koda and his siblings were abandoned at a shelter in Puerto Rico. Despite that rough start, he has grown into a confident, loving pup with a wonderful temperament and so much potential.

Now all he needs is a family to call his own.

Tatum loves everyone, is playful and friendly and just wants a stable home that will show what being “family” really means. He is 1+ year old, 15 lbs, neutered and current on vaccines.
