It's time to kick off our Summer 2026 Intern Meet n Greet! ☀️🎉
Meet Destiny Fernandes!
"I am a first-generation law student with a strong commitment to justice, service, and being a voice for the voiceless. Having grown up in the United Arab Emirates, I was immersed in a multicultural environment from an early age, which shaped my global perspective and deepened my awareness of inequality and vulnerability across communities. These experiences helped cultivate my passion for advocacy and my desire to pursue a vocation centered on service and justice.
This summer, I am serving as a Legal Intern (Law Fellow) with in Washington, D.C., where I support efforts to combat domestic minor s*x trafficking through legal and policy research. My responsibilities include statutory and case law analysis, literature reviews, and assisting with research that informs advocacy initiatives and survivor-centered legislative reform. I am also engaging in Capitol Hill briefings, task force meetings, and policy discussions that address trafficking-related issues at the national level.
Guided by my faith and my experiences as a first-generation student, I am committed to using my legal education to amplify marginalized voices and protect those who are often unseen or unheard. I believe the law can be a powerful instrument for justice and restoration when applied with integrity, compassion, and humility. Through this internship, I seek to grow both professionally and spiritually while discerning how God is calling me to integrate law, service, and advocacy in my future legal career."
Join us in praying for Destiny! 🙏💙
