We’re Scout and Hattie, Facility Dogs with Xpedition Lifeline, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. What is Facility Dog?

Our mission is to "facilitate" healing conversations as we provide supportive comfort and solace to military, veteran, and first responder communities. 🐾 A Facility Dog is a specially trained working dog that operates alongside a qualified peer support professional working in a high-stress environment prone to traumatic experiences. At Mutts With A Mission, Facility Dogs undergo the same rigorous

two-year training program designed for Service Dogs and learn to perform specific, skilled tasks developed to decrease anxiety response, increase resiliency, and facilitate conversation within a command setting. Once placed with a certified handler operating in a demanding work environment, Facility Dogs serve as emotional breaching tools, helping to dismantle the barriers to improving mental and physical health and fostering trust, empathetic communication, and healing.

Your sacrifice, strength, and commitment continue to inspire hope and remind us that freedom is never free.

Because of the generosity of our supporters, Xpedition Lifeline was honored to serve during National Police Week 2026 in Washington, D.C. We stood alongside National and International Honor Guard Teams and Motor Units as families of fallen officers arrived from flights across the nation and offered a compassionate presence during moments of remembrance and honor. We visited Gold Shield families during their stay in D.C. and provided quiet respite, from emotional overload, in the form of tail wags, dog kisses, and comforting snuggles from Facility Dogs Scout and Hattie. We were also privileged to participate in an Honor Flight, helping welcome veterans of multiple wars and conflicts as they arrived to a warm reception of gratitude, honor, and remembrance they so richly deserve.

Throughout the week, we spent time with the brave men and women of the Supreme Court Police, FBI Headquarters, and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police. Through one-on-one connections, the power of an empathetic embrace, heartfelt prayers, and the calming impact of Scout and Hattie, we were able to share encouragement, sincere appreciation, and support with those who continue to serve and those who have sacrificed so much. None of this would have been possible without the generous supporters of our mission at Xpedition Lifeline. Thank You. 💙🖤💙🖤

Today, we remember the men and women who paid that price with their lives in service to this great country. May we live worthy of their sacrifice and never forget their names. 🇺🇸
