Where Are They Now? | Meghan Swanson (Smith-Crutchfield) – PAHS Class of 2005

Then: Friends, fun, and getting involved. 💛
High school may have been 21 years ago (seriously, how did that happen?! 😂), but for Meghan, it still feels like yesterday! Some of her favorite memories include hanging out with friends, participating in school events, and being involved in Latin Club and Optimist Club.

Now: Family, community, and approximately 47 different hats. 🚌🏡
These days, Meghan’s life is a wonderfully busy mix of family, career, and community involvement. She’s a wife and mom, Realtor, property manager, and school bus driver—earning her the fitting nickname “The Bus Driving Realtor.” 😂

Meghan is also very active in her neighborhood and with the PTAs at Point O’ View Elementary and Kempsville Middle School, where she enjoys helping plan events and finding ways to bring people together.

Through her career in real estate and property management, she’s had the opportunity to meet some amazing people and help them through all kinds of real estate adventures along the way.

And PAHS connections run in the family! Meghan’s husband, Josh, is a PAHS Class of 2006 alum, where he was involved in NJROTC and the school newspaper.

Life may be fuller, busier, and a little crazier than Meghan imagined back in 2005—but in the best possible way. She’s grateful for her family, her community, and all the unexpected twists and turns that brought her here. 💛

Where Are They Now? | Jenna Ivanoski – PAHS Class of 2005

Then: Hardworking… but still the life of the party.
After moving to VB halfway through high school, Jenna jumped in as the “new girl” junior year and didn’t miss a beat. She served as President of FBLA, was active in Honor Society and German Club, and worked two jobs—somehow balancing it all with a very active social life.

One unforgettable memory? “Staying the night” at Seanne’s house (after Homecoming I think)... until the cops showed up at 4 am and we all had to call our parents to pick us up. 😬

Now: Same vibe, just way better hair.
After graduating from JMU and starting her career in accounting, she made a bold pivot into technology. Jenna is now a Product Leader in Tax Innovation at PwC, working at the forefront of AI transformation.

After 14 years in Iowa, she made her way back to Virginia and recently purchased a homestead property in Goochland, where she’s enjoying a slower pace—gardening, quiet country living, and planning for her future goal of opening a dog sanctuary.

Where Are They Now? | Joel Brown – PAHS Class of 2005

Then: Good friends, good memories, and simpler times. 🌊
Some of Joel’s favorite high school memories include Mr. Weiss’s oceanography class, working at Taco Bell, and spending time with his “Porch Crew” friends hanging out at Jake’s house.

Now: Mountain life and a passion for adventure. 🏂
Since graduating from PAHS, Joel earned degrees in Information Systems from Radford University (2009) and George Washington University (2013).

He began his federal career in Washington, DC before relocating to Colorado in 2015 to work as a System Administrator for the U.S. District Court for Colorado.

Outside of work, Joel’s biggest passion is snowboarding, hitting the slopes an impressive 40–50 days each winter. He now lives in Denver with his two cats, Jack and Jill.

Where Are They Now? | Dionne Middlebrooks (Gibson) – PAHS Class of 2005

Then: Driven competitor and standout athlete. 🏃‍♀️
During high school, Dionne competed nationally as a member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and was a standout track and field athlete in Virginia, making her mark both academically and athletically.

Now: Excellence in motion—leader, educator, and entrepreneur. 👑
Dr. Dionne Middlebrooks is a member of her college’s Athletic Hall of Fame after becoming an NCAA Division I All-American sprinter, previously holding several individual event records for her college and conference.

She went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is now the owner of Reign Physical Therapy and Wellness, where she is affectionately known as Dr. Dionne or Dr. D in her community. She also serves as an adjunct professor for two graduate-level programs, speaks at conferences, and contributes to the education of physiotherapists internationally.

While in college, she met her husband, a naval officer, and after years of moving during his military career, they settled in Georgia. Together, they homeschool their three children while balancing their careers.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Dionne enjoys a slower pace of life—spending time outdoors with her family, caring for their 20+ chickens, and tending to their fruit and vegetable garden.

The Princess Anne Cavaliers bring home the VHSL Class 5 State Championship, adding another banner to an already legendary program.

Year after year, Coach Darnell Dozier continues to build one of the most dominant girls basketball programs in the state.

Big moments. Big players. Championship culture.

Princess Anne stays on the throne. 👑

Where Are They Now? | Carla Ryan (Galway) – PAHS Class of 2005

Then: Creative spirit and school pride. 🎨
Carla was active in student leadership, serving on the SCA Executive Council as Historian, where she loved creating posters and signs for school events and activities. She also participated in Leadership Workshop and spent two years on the JV softball team.

Now: Turning creativity into a business. ✨
Carla still calls Virginia Beach home, where she lives with her husband and their three children — two girls and a boy. She spent eight years as a second grade teacher before following her passion for art and design.

Today she runs her own art and design business, Thirteenwinks, where she creates hand-drawn skyline illustrations of cities and collaborates with retailers on custom designs. What started as a love for creating in high school has grown into a thriving creative business.

Where Are They Now? | Cindy Hoffmeister (Weidner) – PAHS Class of 2005

Then: Quiet presence. Bright spirit. 💫
Cindy may have been quiet and shy, but she had a bubbly personality that helped her make friends wherever she went. She enjoyed recreational sports like softball, was active in Young Life and German Club, and spent plenty of time at the skating rink and on weekend adventures with friends.

Now: Service, strength, and family-first living. ⚓️
Cindy serves as a civilian Senior Paralegal Specialist for the U.S. Navy, proudly advocating for our nation’s service members. She has dedicated 19 years to the federal government, including 12 years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and continues to serve with excellence and commitment.

Off the clock, she’s a devoted mom raising an energetic first-grader whose schedule stays full with karate, baseball, basketball, and monster-truck engineering projects. She’s been married for eight years to her favorite adventure partner — an Air Force veteran turned ED registered nurse.

These days, life centers around family and making memories through cross-country road trips, amusement park adventures, camping escapes, and keeping up with their two loyal pups, Mister and Jinx.

Same spirit. Bigger purpose. A life built on service, family, and love.

Where Are They Now? | Michael Warren Jr. – PAHS Class of 2005

Then:
Michael was a club officer, involved in Seasons for Nonviolence and Operation Smile. He loved baseball and was known for his love for his friends.

Now:
Michael’s passion is making a difference in a child’s life, which led him to special education teaching at Independence Middle School. He teaches middle school special education and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Special Education Teaching.

He is a graduate of University of Phoenix (2011) and Regent University (2024).
Michael is also a proud fur dad to his beloved pup, Vinny 🐶.

Where Are They Now? | Mark Murphy – PAHS Class of 2005

Then:
During his high school years, Mark was actively involved in several student organizations and participated in athletics, including junior varsity football and the track and field team his senior year, where he competed in shot put. He was also widely recognized for his strong social presence and distinctive sense of style, which contributed to his well-rounded and engaging high school experience.

Now:
Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Barton College, where he was a member of the NCAA Division II track and field team, competing in shot put and holding the school record. He later obtained his master’s degree in Counseling from Liberty University.

Mark has held various leadership roles in higher education, with a focus on enrollment management, including serving as a Director of Admissions. He currently resides in Washington, DC and serves as the Associate Director of College and Career Counseling within KIPP DC, one of the nation’s largest charter school systems. He is also a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc..

Where Are They Now? | Angellica Schulman (Brooks) – PAHS Class of 2005

Then: Leadership in every step 🇺🇸
Angellica was deeply involved in ROTC and Class Council, serving as a Lieutenant JG her senior year, a platoon leader, and leading our marching team without arms—a role that required discipline, coordination, and true leadership.

Now: A leader, advocate, and difference-maker ❤️
Angellica is a proud mom of two—her youngest (12) has special needs, and her oldest (16) attends PA and stays busy with football, wrestling, and baseball.
She’s a special education teacher at a private therapeutic day school, teaching grades 7–12 across all subjects, with a focus on high-functioning autistic students. She’s been there 8 years, serves as a teacher mentor and instructional coach, and was honored as Teacher of the Year last school year.
Beyond the classroom, Angellica has been the Director of a special needs baseball team for 6 years and is the President of Aid Another, a nonprofit supporting individuals with disabilities. Her commitment to advocacy and inclusion is nothing short of inspiring.
