When registering, select the Tidewater Striders team. Already registered and want to join us? Email Thomas at [email protected] to be added to the team.

You can represent our team in all races, but only the 5K and Half Marathon count toward the Harbor Cup—and we need runners in both!

⚡🏃‍♀️Strider Runner of the Month: Jennifer Jeffers! 🏃‍♀️⚡

This month, we’re celebrating Jennifer Jeffers, a longtime Tidewater Striders member, dedicated volunteer, and incredible inspiration to our running community! 💙

Jennifer has conquered distances from the mile to the 100K, completed an Ironman at age 50, and still holds the age-group record for the Blackbeard’s Revenge 100K! 🏅 She’s also served as race director for 14 races and was named Race Director of the Year in 2012.

Beyond her own accomplishments, Jennifer’s passion for running shines through her years of volunteering, supporting local races, and sharing the sport with her family. Today, she’s training her daughter Elaine for the 2026 Shamrock Marathon! 👟

Jennifer reminds us that running is about more than miles and finish lines. It’s about community, family, and a lifelong love of the sport.

Congratulations, Jennifer, and thank you for everything you do for Tidewater Striders! 💙⚡

🏆 Tidewater Striders Hall of Fame Gathering! 🏃‍♂️

Our Tidewater Striders Hall of Fame family got together tonight in Virginia Beach for our annual gathering, and what an amazing evening it was! ❤️💙

A huge thank-you to our Hall of Fame Chairman, Randy Cook, for organizing another wonderful event!

This year was extra special as we welcomed Tidewater Striders founder and first president, Jerry Bocrie, and his wife, Lori! It was an honor to have them join us and celebrate the history, friendships, and legacy of our club.

We also had the opportunity to capture a special group photo of our Hall of Fame members, along with a photo of our first Striders president and our current president — a great reminder of how far this incredible club has come!

With more than 50 years of history, the Tidewater Striders are built on a foundation of running, friendship, community, and dedicated volunteers who have helped make this club what it is today.

Proud to be part of this amazing family and to help carry the Striders legacy forward! ❤️💙🏃‍♂️

Do you know a Tidewater Strider who has made a lasting impact on our club and the running community? Now is the time to nominate them for the Tidewater Striders Hall of Fame Class of 2027! 👟🏅

📣 Nominations are due by November 1, 2026!

To be eligible for the Hall of Fame:
• Nominees must have been a member of the Tidewater Striders for a minimum of 10 years.
• Members may self-nominate or be nominated by another club member.
• Those submitting a nomination on behalf of someone else must have been a Tidewater Striders member for at least 5 years.
• A maximum of 5 members will be inducted into the Class of 2026.

📝 Nominations must be submitted electronically in Word format, using Times New Roman, 12-point font.

📧 Submit completed nominations to Randy Cook at [email protected].

You may cut and paste the nomination form provided in the official nomination document directly into Word.
