A huge thank you to Cory Alexander, General Manager at D-BAT Virginia Beach and MLB Draft Advisor with Waverly Avenue Sports, for volunteering his time and sharing his story with our Young Gentleman Leaders Club at Rosemont ES!
Each month, Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads partners with Communities In Schools at Rosemont Elementary to bring local community leaders and role models into the Young Gentleman Leaders Club. Through these experiences, students have the opportunity to learn about professionalism, leadership, character, goal-setting, and what it means to be a gentleman, all while building meaningful connections with positive role models in their community.
Cory kicked off our first club meeting of the school year with an inspiring conversation about growing up as an athlete, overcoming adversity, working hard, and treating everyone with respect. One of his biggest messages? You never know when your paths may cross again, so always be hardworking, respectful, and intentional about how you treat the people around you.
Thank you, Cory, for helping get our young gentlemen excited for another year of learning, growing, and building the skills and relationships that will help them become confident, capable, and connected! ⭐
We’re grateful to Mrs. Benjamin with Communities In Schools at Rosemont for helping make these meaningful experiences possible and to all of the community leaders who invest their time in the next generation.
