Life Fund is focused on raising funds for, and providing leadership to local adult and youth hockey programs. The Warrior for Life Fund seeks to professionalize and expand existing hockey programs that support not only the Naval Special Warfare community but also the greater military community of the Hampton Roads area. Originally founded as the Virginia Beach Hockey Club, Challenge Team in 2012, the VBHC focused on providing the Hampton Roads military community a forum to develop a team atmosphere and a positive environment for mentors and all athletes who want to learn to play hockey. The VBHC was committed to promoting camaraderie, competition, and athleticism to those with and without disabilities. The only requirement was a strong work ethic, dedication, and a positive attitude.

The Warrior Charity Golf Tournament returns June 6 in Suffolk, VA.

This event is run 100% by our sled hockey team.

Every sponsor, every donation, every raffle item has been secured by the team. The same adaptive athletes and veterans who benefit from these programs are the ones building this event from the ground up.

All proceeds support local initiatives led by the organization, including:

Adaptive and sled hockey programs
Human Performance Center services
Integrated recovery and support for active duty, veterans, and families

This is a direct impact. Built by the people it supports.

Warrior For Life Fund was named by Run to Remember as the beneficiary of this year’s event, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of something so meaningful within our military community.

Run to Remember is about more than a race. It is about the local community honoring those we have lost and standing alongside the families who carry that loss every day. That responsibility matters to us.

We wanted to make sure we matched that meaning with action.

At Run to Remember, we awarded our first
NSW Gold Star Scholarship, presenting Piper Bourgeois, a graduating senior, with a five thousand dollar scholarship in memory of her father, CAPT Brian Bourgeois. Piper represents exactly why this program exists and a future that deserves to be supported.

This is just the beginning.

Warrior For Life Fund has committed to awarding five thousand dollar scholarships to every NSW Gold Star graduate in the Class of 2026. One down, six to go. Stay tuned for updates. We intend to carry this program forward into 2027 and beyond for as long as funding allows.

We do not just remember. We show up.

🚁 A signature helicopter golf-ball drop
🇺🇸 Direct support for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families

Every element of the day is designed with intent—connecting leaders, partners, and supporters to a mission that extends well beyond the course.

Proceeds from the helicopter ball drop will also benefit our partners at the The Greg Hill Foundation , providing immediate assistance to families navigating hardship.
