HOCKEY IS FOR EVERYONE! 🏒🇺🇸

One of the highlights of Face Off for Heroes Tampa Bay was our sled hockey exhibition, showcasing the remarkable talent, determination and competitive spirit of adaptive hockey athletes.

A special thank-you to the Warrior For Life Fund and Tampa Bay Lightning Sled Hockey Team for demonstrating the skill, teamwork and passion that make this sport so special!

We were honored to welcome an outstanding group of athletes, including:

🏅 Kip St. Germaine, Paralympic gold medalist.

🏒 Laurie Wood, U.S. Women's National Team champion.

🥇 Monica Quimby, multi-gold medalist, co-captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning Sled Hockey Team and member of the U.S. Women's Sled Hockey Team

Thank you to the NHL and Tampa Bay Lightning alumni who climbed into sleds, embraced the challenge and gained a new appreciation for the athleticism and skill required to compete in sled hockey.

Thank you to every athlete, family, volunteer and supporter who made this exhibition possible, and to the NHL, our presenting sponsor, for helping make these opportunities a reality.

We were honored to welcome Adm. Frank M. “Mitch” Bradley, commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (), for the ceremonial puck drop ahead of the championship game of the 2026 Face Off for Heroes Tampa hockey tournament.

Adm. Bradley joined two retired Navy SEAL Master Chiefs at center ice: Tom Phalon, representing Warrior For Life Fund (blue jersey), and Jon Echols, founder and CEO of Special Operations Hockey.

The moment brought together three leaders whose commitment to service reflects the spirit of Face Off for Heroes: honoring our military community, strengthening connections and continuing to serve long after the uniform comes off.
