The Purple Stride 5k is this weekend and they still need volunteers. If you feel like giving a couple of hours to support a great cause and have some fun while doing it, please message me.

Easy peasy volunteering. Nothing strenuous or exerting. Just to help fill in with handing out water for runners or checking people in.

Official first day of The JCOC Community Thrift Store! Yay! We have some great stuff some come out to see us at 120 South Plaza Trail in Va B*h. Proceeds benefit the Judeo Christian Outreach Center for the homeless.

We still need MEN's JEANS everyone. If you haven't started spring cleaning, now is a good time to get rid of those winter clothes that might not fit next year, due to the weight loss from New Year's resolutions. Thanks to Jamie Todd for her donation!! Keep them coming folks! The people that don't have a home depend on them.

Happy April Fool's Day everyone! Our PURPLESTRIDE 5k event on Saturday needs a Zumba instructor to warm up the crowd pre-race for about 15 minutes. If anyone can help, please message me! Thanks. We also need a Videographer to take some footage of the event and document it. It is a pretty bit deal as it is the Inaugural Purple Stride Event for the Tidewater area. Please let me know if anyone can video this event. GRACIAS!

WE ARE IN NEED OF MEN'S JEANS for the homeless folks! They need them to keep the bugs from biting them when they are sleeping in the woods. So, if you all can go through your old clothes and maybe offer a pair or two that would be awesome!!! That is the one thing we don't have at the Thrift Store and we are doing this to help Holly with "Blankets for the Homeless." She was the teenager that was on the news last year buying blankets with her own money to help out the people that need them the most. Let me know and I can come get them or you can drop them at the store! MUCH THANKS!

I put the wrong link a couple of weeks ago for volunteers for the Purplestride. Oops! The correct link is Purplestride.org/tidewater. You can register to volunteer for our team, just follow the instructions the website takes your through and chose to sign up for a team. Then just select the VBBFFs from the list and you're in there! It is going to be a great event and lots of fun! Come join us!

Lots of stuff popping up in the VBBFF world! A lot of you saw the news story last night on WAVY news about a local shelter that is in dire need of help. Many messaged me and asked what we can do. I spoke with Angel of Critters4u Rescue. She needs funds for vet bills, food, a grant writer, a couple of vets to help with the low cost medical care, dog walkers and people to give some love to the animals. She takes on special needs and sick animals, rehabs them and then puts them up for adoption. If you can help. Just a dollar goes along way. Let me know about contributions and we can make arrangements to pick them up. Also, I am working on getting a fundraiser together for them. I'll keep everyone posted. Let's help get these animals some help and Critters4U keep their doors open!
