At today's State of the University address, we were delighted to surprise longtime Batten University professor Rebecca Ho**er, Ph.D., with her appointment as the inaugural Senior Fellow of the Gilbert T. Bland Center for Urban Leadership Education. Dr. Ho**er has played a key role in the planning and implementation of Batten University’s Prison Education Program and has taught students in the program at the University’s correctional center locations. She brings a wealth of expertise and a history of leadership that will advance the Bland Center's mission and values. Congratulations, Dr. Ho**er!

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is partnering with Hampton & Peninsula Health Districts (HPHD) to host Back-2-School Immunization Clinics on select dates through the remainder of August!

Clients will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis and may be assigned a time slot upon arrival depending on availability.
