Four years ago, we had a vision to bring back the Shadowlawn Surf Club. This club started over 20 years ago but had been dormant for many years and all the kids who once surfed were now in college or working jobs.

The vision was simple: families and kids packing 1st Street, surfing, relaxing, eating dinner, and enjoying time together as a community. Today, that vision has truly come to life. Dads, instructors, neighbors, and friends are back in the water, pushing kids into waves and cheering them on. There is no better sight than seeing nearly 100 kids descend on 1st Street, ready to catch their first wave or their 100th.

The Shadowlawn Surf Club isn’t just back — it’s thriving. 🌊🤙

And next week, we get to celebrate in a big way by giving away 100 Surf Club shirts to our kids completely FREE!

The weather is going to be great and we will have VB Surf Sessions down there with boards and instructors.

Last week we had over 80 kids transcend on 1st street. Let’s do it again. Pack dinner, pack drinks and head on down tonight to enjoy an evening on the beach.

Some great news Shadowlawn!

Today, our Civic League President met with the City to discuss the placement and installation of our two new Shadowlawn neighborhood signs. We’re excited to see this project continuing to move forward!

We also began discussions about a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Winston-Salem Avenue project, another exciting milestone for our neighborhood.

There are so many great things happening in Shadowlawn and so much to look forward to. We’re excited about the progress being made and what’s ahead for our community!

Today, we want to shout out a believer and supporter from the beginning when we decided to bring back Shadowlawn Surf Club. One who believed in our vision of getting all the kids out in the water together, introducing new surfers to the sport and it all being about fun and friendships. No matter what neighborhood you live in, whether your busting it off the lip or just busting on the take off, your smiles matter .

Thank you VB Surf Sessions for bringing out boards and instructors each week to spread the stoke! It’s because of you this vision continues to grow! THANK YOU!

Last week we had over 80 kids transcend on 1st street. Let’s do it again. Pack dinner, pack drinks and head on down tonight to enjoy an evening on the beach.

We will also have a voluntary beach clean up with prizes being given away.

Yall, we have a great night planned for you! Grab a cooler and come on out to 801 High Point Ave to hang with neighbors and meet new ones. This night is all about getting out and meeting new friends.

We will have 4 square, Gaga ball and other games for kids. We will also have an inflatable obstacle course from Bounce House Rentals in the 757 Easy Does It Entertainment

FOOD AND DRINKS
A L O H A VB 🤙🏽 will be there serving shaved ice and delicious Hawaiian dishes for dinner.

POLICE & FIRE:
