Today’s board member spotlight is Dave Stephens, Vice President of the Toby’s Dream Foundation. Has over 24 years of experience in finance and has been involved with the organization for 15 years. Originally helping by providing office space, he became deeply connected to the mission and now serves as a board member and Golf Tournament Chair. He finds the most rewarding part of his role in seeing families enjoy meaningful dream experiences, and he is recognized for his long-standing leadership, compassion, and dedication to the foundation!

Where does the name Toby’s Dream come from? 💙
Toby’s Dream Foundation is named after Toby Vaught, a Hampton Roads native whose passion was helping children facing life-threatening illnesses hold onto their dreams.
Toby dedicated his life to uplifting these incredible kids, making sure they never lost their imagination, their joy, or their hope. His love for people was contagious, inspiring everyone around him to join in his mission.
Though Toby tragically passed away at just 29, his angelic spirit lives on through every Dream we create. ✨

Liam’s Story 💙

Liam’s Dream was more than a trip, it was a turning point.
At just seven years old, Liam and his family finally experienced a week filled with joy, freedom, and moments that felt normal again. From celebrating his birthday in Orlando, to laughing nonstop in Minion Land (“BANANA!” for six straight minutes 🍌), to bravely stepping into his independence at Give Kids The World Village, this Dream brought something back his family had deeply missed: himself.
For the first time in two years, Liam wasn’t defined by his diagnosis. He was laughing, exploring, connecting, and simply being a kid again. ✨
A heartfelt thank you to Chartway Promise Foundation () for helping make Liam’s Dream come true. And to Toby’s Dream Foundation for continuing to bring light to families who need it most.

Remembering Ky 🕊️🤍
Ky’s Dream was filled with magic, adventure, and moments she truly deserved. From flying for the first time (and sleeping through it 😌), to meeting Stitch at ‘Ohana (her spirit match) to riding the VelociCoaster again and again, she embraced every second with joy. She explored Galaxy’s Edge, laughed her way through Universal, and created lasting memories.
Her Dream was more than a trip, it was a celebration of her strength, her spirit, and the love that surrounded her.

Charlotte’s Dream of Princess Magic 👑✨

At just five years old, Charlotte chose her Dream with her whole heart, fairytales, imagination, and everything princess. Her trip to Disney became a place where that magic could truly come to life. From her very first flight to stepping into Give Kids the World Village and seeing her family’s name on their very own mailbox, every moment felt special.
Each day was filled with joy, ice cream runs, carousel rides, princess salon visits, and unforgettable mornings surrounded by characters, volunteers, and a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. For Charlotte’s family, it wasn’t just about the fun it was about finally being able to slow down, breathe, and simply be present together again.
At the parks, Charlotte lit up with excitement, especially while riding Slinky Dog Dash and exploring the beauty of Epcot. But beyond the rides and characters, this trip meant something deeper.
After facing the challenges of critical illness, Charlotte’s mom shared, “It almost felt like making up for lost time… this was an opportunity to take some part of life back.” 💛
This Dream gave Charlotte and her family something priceless, a return to joy, imagination, and togetherness.
