We welcome 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗨𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗲 from 𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮 — the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness serving Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and the Eastern Shore. NAMI Coastal Virginia offers free support groups, peer education, advocacy, and resources for individuals and families living with mental illness. With one in four adults experiencing a mental health disorder in a given year, the work they do in our region has never been more essential. This is a conversation worth showing up for. 🌟 💡 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 — 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?

One of Rotary's most impactful youth programs started with a single event in Australia — and a word that means "fun together." 🇦🇺

In 𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟵, Rotary Clubs in Queensland helped organize a youth leadership event called 𝗚𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼 — an Aboriginal word meaning "fun together." More than 300 young people aged 17–23 showed up, and what happened next changed Rotary forever. Recognizing the power of the program, Rotary developed it into an ongoing global initiative — officially adopted by Rotary International in 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟭 as the 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 — 𝗥𝗬𝗟𝗔. 🌍

Today, RYLA programs around the world invest in the next generation of leaders, changemakers, and community builders — giving young people the skills, confidence, and connections to make a real difference. At the 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆, investing in the next generation is central to who we are and what we do. 💙
