July 4th parade!
We are planning the July 4th parade. There is alot to it, including obtaining an event permit from the City.
We need help with traffic safety monitors along the parade route. This is part of obtaining the permit. It's easy and simple. We obtain traffic signs and cones from the city and distribute them along the route before the parade. A volunteer moves the signs and/or cone into the road to hold traffic while the parade passes and puts them back at the roadside when the parade is clear.

You may sign up for one of eight spots using this link to SignUp Genius"

A parade prebrief will be held at Witt Park at 10:30AM on July 4th after which volunteers can go to their spot.

Please help us with this! If you live along the parade route, we need you. Even if you do not live along the parade route, we need you.

It's a busy week... just two days before our Thusday evening KGCL meeting followed on Saturday by our annual Ice Cream Giveaway for our neighborhood youth.
There is more information about both events right here on our page (facebook.com/KGCL.org).

And, by the way, we are actively planning for our July 4th parade and picnic. The parade will begin at 11:00AM. Put it in your calendar!

KGCL meeting Thursday, June 11th.
Please join us for our summer KGCL meeting at 7:00PM June 11th. We meet at King's Grant Baptist Church on Little Neck Rd across from the Swim and Racket Club. Drive to the left of the church to park and enter.
We are pleased to welcome a trio of high school students who will tell us what they are doing with Little Neck Community Betterment. This chapter of a national oranization is located right here and doing some amazing things. I think you will be impressed and thankful to know what good work these young men and women are doing.
We also will have Officer David Shoenbach from the VBPD 3rd Precinct. He is the precinct's Community Liaison Officer and the KGCL's primary POC with the precinct. Come ask some questions.
Support your community league by attending. Even if you are not a curent member, you are invited...we want you to know what is going on in the community and what the KGCL is doing to keep it a great place to live. As usual, we will have a $20 gift card door prize drawing for members attending.

P.S. The summer newsletter is in the mail to members. It is running a little late, so we wanted to get this meeting announcement on the street.

Hope to see you on the 11th!

While today may be a day off and time for a game or cookout, to many it is a solumn day of remembrance of family members and friends who died in service to their country. On this Memorial Day, give time to Honor and Remember those who were lost so that we may continue to live in the greatest country on earth.

The Honor and Remember flag is flying today at Witt Park.
