PiN Ministry

PiN Ministry PIN Ministry exists to connect the homeless with services that will heal and restore hope. This included case management and permanent housing assistance.

As a support center to the homeless and poorest of the poor, our mission is to alleviate human suffering and create a pathway out of poverty. We believe a holistic approach is needed to restore mind body and spirit. Our hope is to make today better but our goal is to change their tomorrow. In the previous year PIN Ministry has been able to expand our services to the increase in need during the pan

demic. We increased service times and for four months during the Covid quarantine we were the only place in Virginia Beach that the homeless could actually go inside for essential services. We completed a capital project to build 2 additional showers for the homeless, installed air conditioning in the service area so we were able to operate as a cooling center from the heat, and constructed an additional dedicated medical office. Through collaboration with ODU/EVMS we have now added an additional day to offer 3 free clinic days each week. We have also become a member of the Virginia Free and Charitable Clinics Association. We expanded our substance abuse and mental health services by hiring a full time addiction counselor, collaborating with the City of Virginia Beach PATH program to connect the homeless suffering from severe mental health disorders and chronic addictions to much needed treatment and long term care. We have coordinated and managed the Expanded Non-congregant Sheltering program for the city of Virginia Beach to give 150 homeless individuals and families sanctuary from the winter weather during the pandemic. Behind every fresh start is someone who showed up with exactly what was needed. Right now, the Advance! Center is in need of everyday essentials to support adults experiencing homelessness as they work toward stable housing, employment, and recovery.

"I came here looking for a job."
That's not always where we start. 30% of our guests report a diagnosed substance use disorder.

At PiN, we know that real stability takes more than a job application. Sometimes it means recovery support first. A mental health referral first. Help navigating a medical or disability process first.

We meet our guests where they are and walk with them at their pace, not ours. Because a job offer means a lot more when someone's actually ready to hold onto it. You can make someone's goal a reality, donate today: https://bit.ly/AdvancewithPiN

Feeling the post-holiday slump? Us too, until THIS happened. A generous donor gave $1,550 this weekend to help build out the Advance! Center, and it reminded us why we do what we do. We're still a long way from our goal, but every gift gets us closer. Can you help us inch that thermometer up today? 💙❤️ Donate here: https://bit.ly/AdvancewithPiN

🍽️ A meal at PiN Ministry is more than just dinner.

It's comfort. It's dignity. It's a reminder that someone cares.

In this reel, one of our amazing volunteers shares what's on the menu for our guests this evening. While a warm meal may seem simple, it's often the first step toward building trust, offering hope, and helping someone move forward.

Providing meals is just one of the many ways PiN Ministry serves our homeless neighbors—and it's made possible by the generosity of people like you.

Thank you for helping us turn compassion into action, one meal at a time. 💙

This Independence Day, declare your independence from the sidelines and make a gift that changes a real life.
