9/11 stair climb at Norfolk Scope

It is that time again for us to remember those who gave so much on September 11th, 2001. The Norfolk Scope, along with Norfolk Fire-Rescue and the Norfolk Fire Foundation are hosting the 9/11 stair climb again this year. The VBFD has had a good showing the last several years and I would love to see our support continue to grow. In the past, proceeds for this event have gone to the Tunnels 2 Towers foundation working hand in hand with our fire department families that are in need. This year proceeds will be going to Vigilant Watch which has provided tremendous support to our VBFD family.

This is also a family friendly event, feel free to bring any significant others, neighbors, and friends. Let’s have a great showing from the VBFD again and continue to show our support for this great cause.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, members from Vigilant Watch Inc, FEMA VA. Task Force 2, Suffolk Fire and Rescue met up for a ramp delivery and install for a Chesapeake Firefighter’s father who recently suffered a medical emergency. Vigilant Watch truly appreciates the volunteers and support from our local communities to continue our mission to support Hampton Roads 1st Responders!

Mission BBQ Hampton April 21, 2026.

On April 21, 2026, Mission BBQ Hampton presented a check from their Red Cups promotion to Vigilant Watch Inc. to help support the area first responders. Vigilant Watch Inc. would like to thank Mission BBQ Hampton for their donation and members from the Hampton Fire Department for assisting in the presentation.
