Meet up at the LOVE sign on the corner of 18h Street and Cypress Avenue. Free parking on 18th Street. No need to sign up– just show up!

Bring your friends or pup to tour over 1 mile of art along 17th, 18th and 19th Streets and popping into businesses hosting featured artists events. Bundle up and bring your flashlight in the winter months!

This tour is free with support from the Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission.

Donations to the ViBe Creative District welcomed. Make plans to stay late for dinner and drinks at one of our partners.

NEW EVENT! Ubuntu Rising in partnership with Teens with a Purpose

Ubuntu Rising is a culturally grounded wellness and healing series inspired by the African philosophy Ubuntu — “I am because we are.”

The series provides restorative, arts-based, and mindfulness experiences that support emotional wellness, reduce stress, and strengthen community connection. Each gathering offers a welcoming space for the community to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and others.

Ubuntu Rising blends movement, sound, poetry, and music to foster belonging, cultural appreciation, and collective care.

Each monthly event takes place in ViBe Park located at 1810 Cypress Avenue in the ViBe Creative District.

June 28 4-7pm
July 26 4-7pm
August 30 4-7pm
September 27 4-7pm

Each 3-hour experience may include:
● Gentle yoga or somatic movement
● Reiki or energy healing
● Sound bath meditation
● Spoken word poetry
● Live music or vocal performance
● Guided reflection and community dialogue
● Closing circle

Saturday Morning Cartoons! A Cartoon Illustration Class for Kids

Saturday, June 20th, 9:00am - 11:00am (1 day workshop)

Ages: 5 - 10 years old

Description:

Come join us at the VB Art Center for a nostalgic fun filled cartoon illustration class for kids!

Watch cartoons, draw, and eat breakfast with your friends!

We will have a full cereal bar with family favorites as well as healthy, gluten free options for every type of tummy!

This class will be run by Vanessa, our Education Manager and her husband Bryson, a cartoon aficionado and a VBPS educator as well!

Food drive at the Old Beach Farmers Market this Saturday!

🌿 This Saturday at Old Beach Farmers Market
This weekend is one of the most meaningful markets of our entire year.
It’s Father’s Day weekend, and it’s also our 9th Annual Farmers Markets Giving Back — a day where our community shows just how much heart it truly has.

We are collecting non‑perishable food for the Judeo‑Christian Outreach Center (JCOC), an organization that feeds and supports families right here in Virginia Beach. Summer is a hard season for many — especially kids who lose access to the two meals a day they rely on during the school year. This is when the need grows, and when our community steps up the most.

Our goal this year is to beat 3,700 pounds of donated food.
It’s a big number — but this market has never been afraid of big goals. Every can, every box, every bag adds up to something real. Something that feeds a neighbor. Something that reminds someone they’re not alone.

And we want to give a very special thank‑you to Sloane from Life is Gouda, who has been collecting food at her shop she shares with Bryan "All Good Craft Granola" 513 Birdneck Rd N for over a month now. She will continue accepting donations through Friday, 6/19. Her kindness, consistency, and quiet leadership are a perfect example of what makes this community special. We are so grateful for her.

The Muse Writers Center Poet will meet guests next week for Poetry in the Park in ViBe Creative District! Details on this series and upcoming poetry contest below:

Poetry in the Parklet Series

An outdoor community gathering where poets and writers come together to read, write, and share. Each event features a local poet who reads their own work and leads participants through a guided free-writing session using original prompts. The event closes with a community open mic, capped off by a final reading from the featured poet. The series also includes a poetry contest open to the community — winners receive a gift certificate to the Muse Writers Center, read their poems at the September Poetry in the Parklet event, and have their work displayed in the ViBe Parklet on 18th Street for a full year, beginning October 2026.

The ViBe Parklet is a long linear parklet on 18th Street between Cypress Avenue and Mediterranean Ave in Virginia Beach

Wednesdays 6 pm – 7 pm

June 24 with local poet Kindra McDonald Greene

July & August – submit poetry for contest

September 23 – Awards with local poet Bill Glose
