The CBDX was formed in 2009 as a group of professionals under the age of 40 who work for CBDA member companies. CBDX membership has grown to nearly 100 individuals representing for profit and not for profit companies in Virginia Beach. The CBDX has held multiple events with political representatives and raised $250,000 for local charities through its annual Casino Night fundraising event.

CBDX Super Bowl LVIII Squares! Two Teams. Plenty of Bad Blood. ...Ready for It?

CBDX is back again this year with its Super Bowl Squares tradition, Taylored to raise funds for the CBDF in support of The X Scholarship and The Alex P. Divaris Memorial Scholarship.

The Rules are Swift, simple and Delicate:
- It's $20 for every Blank Space on the board, beginning with 100 squares.
- You can buy 1, you can buy 2, you can even buy 22!
- Once all the squares are sold, we’ll draw numbers 0-9 for each team and populate the squares as they’re drawn--it's all random so Don't Blame Me for the square(s) you get!
- At the end of each quarter, the one Gorgeous square that matches the last digit in each team’s score wins.
- If the score remains unchanged from quarter to quarter, one square must have some good Karma because that same one wins again.
- If the board sells out, the payouts for the first 3 quarters are $200 and the End Game payout is $400.

You can select the name that goes in the square so you can buy squares for yourself, a family member, and/or anyone else you know All Too Well, so they can join in on the fun! Just let us know who The Lucky One is that's also getting a square.

Payments can be made by Venmo to CBDX President Tyler Rosá (-rosa).

For this month's CBDX meeting, it was a true honor to welcome Kit Chope and his team to hear about their backgrounds and also learn about the Neptune Festival and all their great events "celebrating the Beach Life." With volunteer, sponsorship, and vendor opportunities aplenty, the Neptune Festival is a perfect organization for young professionals looking to get more involved and make an impact in the local Virginia Beach community.

(And did you know the Oceanfront's iconic King Neptune statue shares a special tie to the Neptune Festival?!)

Our Story

The CBDX was founded on June 4, 2009, in a small room at Strayer University within the Town Center of Virginia Beach. Co-Founders, Alex Divaris, Danijel Velicki, Stephen Pfeiffer and Erica Meekins Rorrer brought together a group of about 20 local, young professionals to discuss the idea of injecting a youthful presence into the Central Business District Association (CBDA).

The CBDA, having been formed in 1986, had reached one of its major goals in bringing mixed-use development to the central business district of Virginia Beach. As the organization began trying to shift its focus and reinvent itself to become a strong advocate for the area, they recognized the importance of involving more Generation X and Millennial professionals. The leaders from both the CBDA and the newly formed CBDX worked together to re-energize the organization with a new purpose and continuously evolving mission.

Today, the CBDX is heavily involved within the leadership of the CBDA, with numerous members being a part of its Board of Directors and serving on its Executive Committee. Our organization has grown to include over 100 members that participate in a variety of events throughout the year, including socials, athletic events, educational forums and meet-and-greets with local politicians. We proudly participate in a number of volunteer and fundraising activities for local charities, having raised more than $250,000 through our annual Casino Night fundraiser. Throughout our existence, we have not only excelled at cultivating innovative ideas and business relationships, but lifelong friendships, as well.
