A few weeks ago, students from Virginia Tech Tau Kappa Epsilon spent time in Memphis with other collegiate students to celebrate their amazing fundraising achievements and inspire them for the next year! This chapter is so outstanding and raised over $275,000 in ONE WEEK setting records for the national partnership between St. Jude and TKE.

This is what vt_tke attendee Josh said about their trip:

“Our chapter was honored to attend the St. Jude NextGen Experience in Memphis, where TKEs from across the country came together to support something bigger than ourselves. We were also incredibly proud to accept the TKE Week of the Year and 50K+ Club awards in recognition of our chapter’s fundraising efforts. During a hospital tour with members of Minnesota Duluth’s chapter, we were stopped by a mother whose young son was being treated for brain cancer. After recognizing that we were TKEs, she explained that the money raised by our two chapters was enough to cover the cost of an entire year of her son’s treatment. Hearing him softly say “thank you” and seeing him smile gave us a powerful, firsthand reminder of the families behind every dollar we raise. St. Jude provides hope during families’ most difficult moments, and our chapter is grateful to continue supporting its mission.”

Connected to campus by a walking bridge, the facility features apartment-style accommodations, full kitchens, dining services, an onsite medical clinic, recreation spaces, fitness areas, play spaces for children, and gathering areas where families can connect with others on similar journeys. By providing comfort, community, and convenience, Domino's Village allows families to focus on what matters most: their child's care and recovery.

From Virginia Tech to Memphis: Tri Delta Director of Philanthropy, Demi shares what this annual Tri Delta Celebration at St. Jude meant to her ✨

“During the Tri Delta Celebration, an overarching theme that we found ourselves returning to again and again was the idea of gratitude. We felt grateful not only for the opportunity to experience and learn about the immense impact St. Jude is making, but also the chance to support an organization that provides children and their families hope. Our "why" is that no matter how frustrating fundraising can be, our difficulties in this journey will never compare to the feeling of being a parent and learning that your child has been diagnosed with cancer. If we are able to struggle a little now, we might be able to lessen the struggle that the patients and parents experience every day. Something about our experience in Memphis that really stook out to us was seeing a tangible form of the impact Tri Delta has made with the "Tri Delta Place" which is a housing facility that was funded entirely by girls just like us. Seeing that building was an incredible reminder of the impact we can make and proof that we are making a difference. WE LOVE ST JUDE FTK!!!”
