Fishing Adventure at Harkers Island
Club Outing Report: November 8–15, 2025

Overview
The recent fishing trip to Harkers Island was an unforgettable experience for all participants. A group of 11 club members and friends gathered for a week-long adventure chasing false albacore (albies) from November 8 to November 15, 2025. Despite some challenging conditions, the camaraderie and excitement made the outing a great success.

Our group was composed of enthusiastic anglers, all eager to make the most of their time on the water. With only four boats available, the teams coordinated to maximize their chances for a productive week. Each boat was filled with anticipation as everyone set out to find the elusive albies that make Harkers Island a renowned destination for sport fishing.

The weather and water conditions proved to be tough for much of the week, but our persistence paid off. The standout day was marked by excellent fishing, with the group boating a total of 16 albies. Additionally, two more were hooked but managed to slip away right at the boat, adding a bit of suspense and excitement to the stories shared later that evening.
While only one day offered ideal conditions, the satisfaction of landing so many fish in a short window was rewarding. The thrill of the chase, the skillful teamwork, and the shared joy of success brought everyone closer together.

The trip wrapped up with high spirits and plenty of great memories. Everyone is eagerly anticipating the next outing, hoping for even better fishing and another opportunity to enjoy the beauty and challenge of Harkers Island. The friendships strengthened, the stories told, and the excitement shared ensure that this annual tradition will continue to be a highlight for the club.

Our week at Harkers Island was filled with excitement, laughter, and the satisfaction of a well-fought fishing adventure. With 16 albies boated and a couple of tough losses at the boat, the group can't wait to return next year for another round of fun and fishing success. Until then, we'll cherish the memories and look forward to creating new ones on the waters of Harkers Island.
