THANK YOU to everyone that supported the 757 YPB's 2026 Polar Plunge. We raised over $6,200 and all proceeds go to athletes across the Commonwealth of Virginia as they strive to win and be brave in the attempt.

The Virginia Beach plunge had over 4,500 plungers and raised over $1.5 MILLION!

Our member this Monday is Social Engagement & Recruitment Chair Savannah Wright!

Savannah is an experienced proposal and business development professional with a strong background in government contracting, pricing strategy, and compliance. She holds an MBA from the University of Iowa and Bachelors of Science and Arts degrees from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of work and school, Savannah channels her creativity into entrepreneurial projects, community involvement, and imaginative storytelling. She is a founding member of the SOVA 757 YPB and has been involved with Special Olympics for over 18 years. From local events to national and international competitions, she’s passionate about supporting athletes and helping build inclusive communities!

Our Monday member this week is John Paul, Volunteering Co-Chair!

As a Business Banker at Atlantic Union Bank John works with small businesses of all types and sizes, partnering with owners to understand their goals and provide banking solutions that support growth, stability, and long-term success. He’s especially passionate about entrepreneurship and building strong financial relationships that help local businesses thrive in the Hampton Roads community.

Outside of work he enjoys volunteering in the community, working on DIY projects, exploring local food and coffee spots, and continuing to learn about business and personal finance.

John Paul is proud to be part of 757 Young Professionals Board and looks forward to connecting with fellow professionals while supporting the organization’s mission across Hampton Roads.

Our Member Monday feature is Fundraising Chair Damean Spiggle!.
Damean is an enthusiastic and dedicated advocate for community service, bringing his passion and leadership skills to everything he does. With a deep commitment to making a difference, he has been a long-time volunteer with ForKids in Suffolk, where he serves as a lead volunteer. His responsibilities include organizing special events such as Back to School and the Christmas Shop, as well as ensuring the smooth preparation and service of dinners for the afterschool program. Damean finds great joy in creating meaningful, memorable experiences for the children and families he serves. In addition to his work with ForKids, Damean extends his talents to The Italian Cellar. His commitment to service and impact was recognized in February 2025, when he received the Everyday Hero Award from WTKR News Channel 3.

Damean also serves in his second year as a board member of YPB, where he currently holds the role of Fundraising Chair. In this capacity, he leads efforts to support the organization’s mission through strategic fundraising initiatives and community engagement. Driven by a genuine desire to give back, Damean consistently seeks opportunities to make a positive and lasting impact wherever he can.

Today’s Member Monday is Treasurer Caleb Thomas!

Caleb is a Digital Marketing Strategist at Ancora Education, which has served students through technical, skills-based training since 2013 and has become an industry leader in education. Through the utilization of marketing strategies, I showcase examples of diversity to help promote the goal of acceptance and equality. Through his position, he strives to bring more minority seats within the marketing industry by being a helping hand and mentor to promote diversity and inclusion. He holds a master’s degree from Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary and a bachelor’s degree from Radford University. He joined 757 Young Professionals Board because he wants to continue to give back to Hampton Roads by supporting Special Olympics Virginai because it is something that he believes in. He especially enjoys Polar Plunge and raising money to Go for the Cold!

YPB members had the distinct pleasure to be a part of the 2025 Fall Championships at the .

Special Olympics Virginia’s Fall Championships is one of the largest annual competitions for Special Olympics athletes in Virginia. This 2-day event featured more than 1,200 athletes from across Virginia competing in a variety of sports such as soccer, golf, bocce and more. From serving as a line watcher for volleyball to being a referee for bocce, our members had a blast and helped athletes from across the Commonwealth of Virginia compete and be brave in the attempt.

This week’s Member Monday is Vice President Shaina Moondra!

Shaina is a Senior Consultant at Deloitte working in financial crime, fraud, and anti-money laundering in the commercial banking/national security sectors. Since the pandemic, she has focused on supporting the social impact sector through COVID-19 scenario planning through D2i, her firm’s Incubator Pro-Bono Consulting program. She obtained her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) licensing and attended William and Mary’s for both undergrad and her masters, completing her M.B.A in August 2023. As a native of Virginia Beach and an alumna of Bayside High School, Shaina provides a scholarship to an outstanding senior student who makes meaningful contributions to the Hampton Roads community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, trying new restaurants, and cooking.

Shaina is excited to be Vice President this year and to assist YPB increase its impact and inspire radical inclusion through regional fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer involvement.

Our first Member Moment of the year features President JP Paul!

JP Paul, MM, CFRE is an enthusiastic philanthropy leader with a proven record of successfully supervising and building development operations, building and implementing strategic plans, and developing new and current donor relationships. He joined 757 YPB in 2023 and is excited to be leading efforts to increase member engagement and make a difference for SOVA athletes in Hampton Roads and across the state.

JP graduated from Murray State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music Performance and completed a Master of Music in Classical Voice at the University of Memphis in 2017. He served as the Leadership Gift Officer at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech from 2018 to 2021 and the Director of Development at the Virginia Symphony Orchestra from 2022 to 2023. In addition to his embedded roles at these institutions, he operates a freelance grants management consultancy and assists organizations in restructuring their development operations, in grant management, and strategic planning.

JP was recognized as a Top 22 Under 40 by the Murray State University Alumni Association in 2021, which honors the most influential, innovative and inspiring Murray State alumni under the age of 40. He was also a mentee in the 2022 AFP/Blackbaud Emerging Leaders Mentorship Program, which is an international opportunity pairs seasoned professionals with emerging leaders to help grow, evolve and further new fundraiser education to develop leadership skills and create an inclusive and equitable future of our profession. He also received the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in March 2025. This voluntary credential, recognized worldwide, signifies a confident, ethical fundraising professional who exemplifies accountability, service, and commitment to making a difference for good.
