July in Nicaragua may be hot and humid, but rainy season means “winter break” for students! ☀️🌧️

This month’s one-minute recap includes safe water and sanitation projects completed in partnership with six local churches, a financial workshop for our Transition Students, and meaningful serving experiences with friends from Rock Family Church (CO), Grace City Church (MD), and Horizon Church (MD).

You’ll also see how children at Williamsburg Community Chapel rallied around children in Nicaragua with a Christmas in July Giving Tree! 🎄💛

Thank you for fueling this mission. Together, more is possible!

This Father’s Day, meet Guillermo, a father helping his daughter fight malnutrition one day at a time.

His two-year-old daughter, Leilani, is facing chronic malnutrition. Her care takes consistency: checkups, follow-up, nutritional support, and time.

In many of the communities Nourish serves, mothers often carry much of the daily responsibility for children’s care. But not in Leilani’s family.

Guillermo, a farmhand, has taken an active role in his daughter’s recovery.

When his wife cannot attend the program, he brings Leilani himself. He takes her to height and weight checkups, picks up the nutritional packages she needs, and helps make sure she does not miss the care helping her grow stronger.

Because sometimes a father’s love looks like making the trip again and again.

In partnership with the local church, Leilani’s family is receiving steady care and support as she continues growing into who God created her to be.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who show up in the highs, the lows, and every day in between.

This World Hunger Day, we’d love to invite you to experience lunch in Nicaragua.

In just 30 minutes, you’ll step inside a family’s home, walk to the local church, and sit at the lunch table with children receiving meals, care, and hope in partnership with the local church.

It’s free, virtual, and open to anyone who wants to see why one meal can mean so much more.

A week of answered prayers. 💙

For the last five weeks, we have been praying together through Prayer40, our daily text message journey lifting up children, families, and local church partners in Nicaragua.

Now, as we enter Holy Week, we are revisiting 5 prayers from last year’s Prayer40 journey and celebrating the ways God has moved.

What you see here are the very prayers we will revisit throughout this week.

If Prayer40 is new to you, there is still time to be part of it. Follow along with us this Holy Week and sign up here: https://mailchi.mp/nourishintl.org/prayer40
or use the link in bio to receive the final daily prayer texts from now until Easter. 🙏

Today, Rebeca needs prayer. 💙

She’s been cooking meals at her local church for three years, because once, it was her children who needed those meals first.

Now poverty has separated her family. Her children are living far away with relatives, while Rebeca and her husband work toward steady income, praying for the day they can be together again.

Rebeca’s story is today’s Prayer40 text, one short message each day with a real family to pray for, and the local church that keeps showing up with love.

If you’d like to pray alongside us through Easter, we’d love to have you: https://mailchi.mp/nourishintl.org/prayer40

Britany is 8 years old.

She dreams of becoming a doctor one day, not just because it sounds exciting, but because she’s already carrying something heavy.

She worries about what happens if someone she loves gets sick, and her family can’t afford care or medicine.

So she prays:

🙏 “Dear God, please take care of my grandma and my family. Help me at school, and help me be a doctor one day so I can help people. Thank you, God. Amen.”

This is why we created Prayer40.

For the next 40 days leading to Easter, we’re sharing one short daily prayer like Britany’s, so you can pause and pray for children, families, and the local church leaders and volunteers caring for them.
