Not every animal-related situation is an emergency, but knowing when to call can help protect animals AND our community.

Virginia Beach Animal Enforcement Officers respond to a wide variety of concerns, including:

๐Ÿ• Animals running at large
โ˜€๏ธ Animals left in unsafe conditions or without adequate care
๐Ÿ  Concerns involving cruelty or neglect
๐Ÿš— Injured animals in need of assistance
๐Ÿพ Stray animals when an owner cannot be located
โš ๏ธ Animal bites and other public-safety concerns
๐Ÿ”Ž Welfare concerns involving animals in our community

Our officers donโ€™t just enforce laws. They educate owners, investigate concerns, help reunite lost animals with their families, connect people with resources, and work every day to find the best possible resolution for both animals and citizens.

With another round of hot temperatures, all waste collection services will begin at 6 a.m. to help our crews get a head start before the hottest part of the day.

Please have your carts, yard waste, and those scheduled bulky items at the curb by 6:00 a.m.

Thank you for helping us keep our crews moving and keeping them safe in this summer heat!

Thanks to all who braved the stormy weather to come out to our August meeting tonight! Great night with speakers Kelly Lee to talk about the city's resources for Aging in Place, Councilman Joash Schulman , and Va Beach School Board candidate Suzanne Berman for School Board !

Next meeting will be October 12, where we will have additional candidates for the upcoming city elections as guest speakers!
