School bags are heading out with deliveries this week, and we’re grateful for the many hands that helped make that possible.

Last week, students from Anchor Church joined us to help pack school bags and prepare our weekend deliveries for families across Tidewater. Their time, energy, and willingness to serve helped us get both ready to go.

As these bags make their way into homes this week, our prayer is simple: that students would walk into this school year with confidence, peace, and the reminder that God is with them. We’re praying for wisdom, good friendships, caring teachers, and strength for every challenge ahead.

Thank you to Anchor Church for helping us serve our neighbors and send a little extra encouragement into the school year.

As we step into a new week, this is our prayer for Manna:

“Establish the work of our hands.” — Psalm 90:17

There is always work to do, but we never want to lose sight of who gives that work meaning. We’re asking God to guide our decisions, strengthen our communities, and use every delivery, conversation, prayer, and act of service for His purposes.

May the work of our hands reflect Him this week.

This week’s Adopt-A-Shelf highlights two simple items that help us serve our neighbors with dignity and love: baby wipes and gallon storage bags. 💛

We include baby wipes with the diapers we provide, helping families receive a more complete and practical bundle. Gallon storage bags help our team divide bulk donations into convenient portions that are easier to share.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who provided diapers last week. Your generosity is a beautiful example of God working through His people to care for others.

July Recap ☀️

July was full of serving, packing, delivering, partnering, and plenty of people showing up to love our neighbors well.

A huge thank you to @lifepointhamptonroads, Lynnhaven United Methodist Church, Trinity Church Hampton Roads, Kempsville Church, and Grace Bible Church for being part of such a great month. Your time, energy, and willingness to jump in made a real difference.

As many of you know, our diaper shelf is normally pretty full. But as more neighbors have reached out to Manna for help, we have continued filling an important gap by including diapers and pull-ups in deliveries to families who need them. This increase has left us especially low on size 4 diapers, 4T–5T pull-ups, and 5T–6T pull-ups.

If you are able to donate a box or package in one of these sizes, it will go directly to a local family. This is also a great opportunity for a church, small group, business, or community organization to participate in Manna’s Adopt-a-Shelf program by helping us keep a frequently needed item stocked!

Whether you donate one package, organize a collection, or adopt the shelf for a period of time, every contribution helps us continue caring for our youngest neighbors. 👶🏽👶🏼👶🏻

This summer, Trinity Church Hampton Roads joined Manna for six Summer Reach events throughout June and July.

More than 80 volunteers served across these events—sorting and packing food, preparing for deliveries, writing encouraging notes to neighbors, helping with food pickups, and even delivering together in the rain.

We are grateful for every child, parent, family, and volunteer who gave their time and energy to care for families across Tidewater. This partnership has been a beautiful example of what can happen when a church steps in and serves its community together.

Scripture for the Week

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9

Some weeks, faithfulness feels ordinary. Packing one more bag, making one more delivery, praying one more prayer, showing up one more time.

But the Lord sees steady obedience. This week, we are asking Him to strengthen our hands, renew our hearts, and help us not grow weary in doing good.
