Would you like a chance at a great, custom built fishing rod? Mike at Juny's Custom Fishing Rods is raffling one off for $5 per chance. Only 60 total chances are being sold. That makes for great odds! See the link below for the available numbers or reach out to Mike at Juny's to get entered now.

Mike was a long time member of our chapter and makes excellent rods. He has donated a number of them to our banquet over the years. I know he will appreciate your support.

What a fantastic day on Saturday! The weather was perfect for our golf event and 41 two-person teams showed up to support our chapter and our conservation efforts in Benton County. Thank you!

We appreciate all our sponsors who helped make a huge difference! Your support goes a long ways in helping us with our annual JAKES Day as well as other conservation projects.

We hope everyone had a great time. Thank you Wildcat Golf Course for being a wonderful host as always!

Turkey decoys on a golf course? You better be there to check it out this Saturday! Even though turkey season ended in mid May, there is an open season on getting closest to decoys at Wildcat Golf Course starting at 9:00 am. We need just 10 more 2-person teams to fill our event. Please help spread the word.

You can sign up by calling Wildcat Golf Course at 319-436-4653.

We have a few nervous turkey decoys that are not sleeping well thinking of golfers taking aim at them this Saturday. Will you be one of the teams joining us for our golf event? Grab a friend. Tell a friend. Tell a friend's friend. Get signed up today!

We need more teams for Saturday! This is a 2-person best shot for only $120 per team. If you have two teams who want to golf together, I am sure we can make that happen.

The forecast is calling for sunny with a high of 81 degrees on Saturday. Perfect golf weather! Please share this with anyone you think might be interested. Again, this is all for a good cause. The funds we raise from this go towards our annual JAKES Day held in May and local conservation projects. One project we are currently looking into is a handicap accessible blind to be placed at Wildcat park. What you help donate comes right back to our local efforts!

Thank you Vinton Today for sharing our event!

The Blue Creek Springtime Monarchs and the Red Cedar Chapter of the Izaak Walton League hosted their annual event on Saturday May 16 at the Ike's facility north of Vinton. 65-70 kids and adults participated in the event to promote and introduce new outdoor activities in a safe environment. One of the biggest hits of our JAKES Day on Saturday was the rescue of a newly hatched painted turtle that found its way into the r***e range. The kids loved to see it and were given a chance to carefully hold it. After the turtle greeted everyone, it was released near the edge of the lake where it could soon join its brothers and sisters.

You never know what you will see in the outdoors, but you need to be there in order to have a chance!
