The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting Louisiana’s abundant natural resources. The department issues hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses, as well as boat titles and registrations.

Another year of celebrating the good things that the Veterans of Foreign Wars does for our vets and the surrounding communities. A great time was had by all who were in attendance and Post 9854 and its Auxiliary came away with several awards for their hard work. Congratulations to our Post Commander for being nominated and elected as the State Jr Vice. Job well done Debbie. Well that’s enough celebrating time to get back to the mission at hand and continue our service to others!

Several people came out to pay tribute to those who are no longer amongst us at the Harrington-Lebouef VFW Post in Vinton. Not only do we honor those we have lost, but this day has special meaning to our post as it is named after two brave individuals who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of others for our great nation! We also want to thank all the essay and art award winners for showing us their patriotic side as well. As always, the Auxiliary and their support team made the event go off flawlessly by providing a meal fit for a king. Thanks again everyone for remembering what Memorial Day is truly about.

First Responder Luncheon! A simple way to say thanks to those who are in service of our communities! We want to say thanks to all those who took the opportunity to come out to VFW Post 9854, Vinton and wish you continued safety and success in supporting our neighborhoods. We also would like to thank the Post Auxiliary for providing the meal and your continued support of our Veterans! Job well done!
