We're down to just a couple contestant spots in our Miss, Mr, and MX divisions. If you've been thinking about entering, don't wait much longer.

Amy's authenticity, humor, and inspiring journey have earned her fans across the country, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Southwest Virginia for this year's celebration.

Join us June 20 at the Salem Civic Center Community Room for the Southwest Virginia Pride Pageant. Doors open at 5:00 PM and the competition starts at 6:00 PM as contestants compete for the titles of Miss, Mr, and MX Southwest Virginia Pride.

Admission is free, so grab a friend and come spend the evening with us. The contestants are bringing the talent—we just need you to bring the applause.

As the LGBT community continues to face barriers in healthcare, we remember our past—when le****ns bravely stepped in to support our gay brothers during the AIDs epidemic.

When the AIDS epidemic first broke in 1981, widespread hysteria ensued. With AIDS being labeled the "gay cancer" medical professionals, confused and biased, even refused to be in the same room as those with AIDS. Le****ns (and some straight women) went to the frontlines, donating blood and offering support to those in hospitals and suffering alone.

This bravery is why the "L" comes first in the acronym "LGBT." Our history is what makes us who we are. And it's a reminder that we can get through this.
