Home of Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization which has been providing residential, educational and employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities since 1968. Since its humble beginnings providing support to eight individuals, Home of Hope has grown into a far-reaching organization that provides residential, vocational and educational opportunities to more than 200 individuals in a five county region with 340 full- and part-time employees.

Home of Hope meets the needs of men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities through each of the following efforts:

Community Support Programs which enable individuals with disabilities to have the opportunity to live in their own home or in their family home. Staff members provide support and training to individuals in many different areas such as cooking, cleaning, money management, self-care, laundry and recreation. Group Home Programs provide residential living in a group setting of 6 to 10 people with developmental disabilities. The group home environment is ideal for an individual who is very independent but requires some amount of assistance to meet their daily needs. The Intermediate Care Facility/Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) Program provides residential living in a group home setting of 6 to 8 people who require direct care 24 hours a day. Trained staff members supervise individuals in most areas of their life, teaching life skills necessary to function more independently. The Quality of Life Activities Program at Home of Hope is large in scale and includes a state of the art equine facility and program, athletics, social gatherings, theatre productions and community outings. This year, 60 clients have signed up to participate in the equine program and 30 have just begun on our golf team. Last year, 102 of our athletes competed in the Summer Olympics and 98 of our athletes competed in the Winter Special Olympic Games, and we anticipate as many or more participants this year. The Vocational Program offers services based on an individual’s ability and needs. Our services range from pre-employment skills training with job coach oversight to independent community placement. Generally, employment begins with skills training in one of our many client operated businesses or sheltered workshops. 147 individuals currently receive vocational services at Home of Hope.
