Handmade from the Heart returns Saturday, December 12, at the
Daniel Fisher House during Christmas in Edgartown, and we would love to fill our
tables with your work. Knits, ornaments, jewelry, pottery, cookies, jams, fudge: if
you made it with love, we would be honored to share it.

"Hospice isn't about dying. It's about living." 💛

Thank you to The MV Times and Abby Remer for sharing our story. Forty-five years ago, Islanders gathered and decided the Vineyard needed its own hospice. By 1982, it was up and running with one paid social worker and 24 volunteers.

Today our Island team offers hospice, palliative care, and grief support to anyone who needs it, including one-on-one grief counseling for anyone on the Island who has had a loss in the past three years.

One thing we hear often: people wait too long to call. As Chantale says, "you always think it's too soon until it's too late." If you have questions, reach out. You are not alone.

Not sure what a remembrance gathering is like? There's no formal program and nothing you need to prepare.

Come alone or with others, arrive when you're ready, and leave whenever feels right. You'll have the chance to write or draw a message on a stone for someone you're remembering, and our staff will be there if you'd like someone to talk with.
