The Singing Ambassadors, originally known as the Vineland Community Group Chorus, began in 1957. They are a community group of area singers supported by the city of Vineland, the Cumberland County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the NJ State Council of the Arts. Through their concerts during the year they provide entertainment and recreation and promote the City, County, and State. The full m
embership is comprised of approximately 25 voices of members aged 14 and up. The Ambassadors are fortunate to have within their membership several accomplished soloists and instrumentalists who perform with them on a regular basis. The Ambassadors are currently under the direction of Kyle Sheppard. Sheppard will be a graduate of the Rowan University School of Fine and Performing Arts in May 2017. Concentrating in organ performance and choral conducting, Sheppard is thrilled his first appointment is with the Ambassadors. His musical involvement and work includes director/organist intern at First Presbyterian Church of Bridgeton and is an apprentice with the Fenimore Organ Co. The Ambassadors have performed extensively throughout the Eastern United States including: Ocean City Music Pier (NJ), Garden Pier Pavilion at the Old Post Office in Washington, DC, Cape May County Park, Renault Winery, Philadelphia Flower Show, Village on the Green in Massachusetts as part of the Hyannis Street Festival, with the New England Symphony in North Conway, NJ, Ellwood City, PA, during the Arts, Crafts and Food Festival and Walt Disney World Epcot Center. The chorus has also been priveleged to perform in Montreal, Canada at the "Man and His World Exposition", and St. Concerts were also presented in Niagara Falls, CN and at the Nathan Phillips Square for the City of Toronto's Summer Music Festival. The Ambassador's repertoire is quite extensive, including popular, classical, sacred, patriotic, traditional, and Broadway music. Their performances are always pleasing to their audiences. They perform many of the scenes in costume with some acting and narration.
