La comunidad le ha exigido a Bridgeton que apruebe una ordenanza que impida que ICE use propiedades y recursos de la ciudad para operativos migratorios. Este 15 De septiembre , se espera que el Concejo Municipal dé seguimiento a esta exigencia.

¡ESTE ES EL MOMENTO DE LLENAR LA SALA!

Cuando nuestros vecinos están siendo perseguidos, quedarnos callados no puede ser la respuesta. Necesitamos que residentes de todo el Condado de Cumberland , familias, aliados y miembros de la comunidad, nos unamos para dejar algo muy claro:

Nuestra ciudad NO debe ayudar a ICE a llevar a cabo su agenda fascista.

Mientras las personas detenidas dentro de Delaney Hall están en huelga de hambre y de trabajo exigiendo su libertad, el Congreso se prepara para entregarle a ICE otros $71 MIL MILLONES de dólares.

Piensa en eso. Hay personas arriesgando su salud dentro de los centros de detención para exponer la violencia de este sistema, y el Congreso quiere premiar a ese sistema con más dinero, más jaulas y más poder.

$71 mil millones de dólares para detención.
$71 mil millones de dólares para deportación.
$71 mil millones de dólares para expandir el mismísimo sistema que las personas dentro de Delaney Hall están arriesgando todo para resistir.

Si has estado buscando una manera de involucrarte y no has podido venir hasta Delaney, esta es una forma en la que puedes apoyar y formar parte de esta lucha.

Llama a tu Representante y exige que vote NO al proyecto de ley de reconciliación y NO a todas las enmiendas antiinmigrantes presentadas durante el voterama.

La semana pasada, más de 40 personas de la comunidad se reunieron para exigirle al Concejo Municipal de Bridgeton, NJ, que tome medidas para proteger a la comunidad inmigrante y apruebe una ordenanza que prohíba que ICE utilice propiedades de la ciudad para llevar a cabo sus secuestros.

Hablaron jóvenes, hombres, mujeres, personas blancas, latinas, negras - todos con una voz unida para decir: ¡Basta ya!

Gracias a Los Tequios CC, a SJ Solidarity Collective por todo su trabajo organizando a nuestra comunidad y gracias a todas las personas que se hicieron presentes!

Todos los miembros del Concejo Municipal, declararon en contra de las actividades de ICE y expresaron su intención de actuar. Ahora debemos exigirles que cumplan sus palabras y tomen medidas concretas.

La próxima reunión del Concejo Municipal será el martes 15 de septiembre a las 5:30pm. ¡Les esperamos allí!

Earlier this week, we traveled from Cumberland County to Trenton to stand in solidarity with the Resistencia team after one of their organizers was arrested while documenting ICE.

As Ruth reminded us: if it can happen to her, it can happen to any rapid responder in any of our communities. We are not alone. We are here for each other.

Marisol brought us back to why we do this work in the first place: “Somos seres humanos. No merecemos ser tratados así.” We are human beings. We do not deserve to be treated this way.

Our communities deserve care. They deserve dignity. And the people who step up to protect their neighbors should not be criminalized for doing so.

That’s why we organize. That’s why we build across cities and counties. When they come for our community, we all show up.

We are out on High Street in Millville today, in front of DC Gallery & Studio, talking with our neighbors about what’s happening with ICE, immigration enforcement, and Delaney Hall.

We are handing out Know Your Rights information, answering questions, and most importantly, talking with folks about how ordinary people can get involved, organize, and help protect our communities.

Because while knowing your rights matters, knowing each other, building connections, and getting organized is how we build power.

We marched through pouring rain and a tornado warning tonight because this moment is too important to stay home.

Today, Trenton police arrested our compañera for exercising her constitutional right of simply documenting ICE. The police, instead of protecting the community from ICE who are actively violating people constitutional rights racial profiling them, instead the chose to focus on the people who are documenting.

Thankfully tonight she is home with her loved ones but the same can't be said for so many of our neighbors. Fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, brothers and sisters have been taken from their families and still haven't come home. And that is exactly why we do what we do.

If Trenton police won't intervene while ICE targets our communities and engages in racial profiling, then get out of the way of the people who will document it, expose it, and hold them accountable.

Don't arrest the people watching ICE. Start asking why ICE needs to be watched.

The rain didn't stop us. Police intimidation won't stop us. We will keep going.

🚨 ALL HANDS ON DECK IN TRENTON TONIGHT.

Today, an organizer documenting ICE activity in Trenton was stopped, pulled from her car, handcuffed, and arrested by Trenton police. Not for interfering with ICE or physically preventing them, but for simply documenting the atrocities they are committing. Documenting the kidnappings and for that, she was arrested.

This is bigger than one organizer. It is an intimidation tactic meant to scare all of us away from holding ICE accountable.

We’ve seen organizers threatened with arrest in Vineland and Pleasantville recently. In both of those instances there was large crowds with them but today in Trenton, she was alone and they followed through with their threat.

This is unacceptable and we can't let her be alone in this moment. We need to show up and let it be known, we won't let this be the norm.

This is all hands on deck. We need to show up BIG and make it clear: we will not be intimidated, we will not be silenced, and we will not stop documenting ICE.

So tonight 6 PM and Trenton City Hall show up and join us in making our voice heard loud and clear.

An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. ✊🏽
