We want to give a BIG “Thank You” to everyone who came and grabbed a glass of lemonade and donated to the Isaiah 117 House Knox County Indiana tonight!

With your help, we raised $250 for an amazing local organization! We can’t thank the team at the Isaiah House enough for all that they do for the children in our community!

We also want to give a shout out & thank you to Byron Bobe’s Pizza House for letting us set up in front of the restaurant tonight, and for providing ice, cups, and helping make our drinks! And to our volunteers and club members, thank you for helping to serve, DJ, and spin that sign! 🪧🍋 Every little bit helps!

At our July meeting this past Tuesday we were lucky enough to have three guest speakers; two from St Vincent de Paul Vincennes District food pantry, Dan and Annie, and one from the newly opened Golden Touch Housing & Support Services, Mahogany.

We presented St Vincent de Paul with a check with the funds raised ($1,175) from our Pack the Pool and Pantry event last month. Dan and Annie shared with us that the pantry has recently relocated, and shared photos of their new facility where they’ll be able to serve even more people. Dan & Annie shared with group members how the pantry is run, give back programs they’re currently offering and ones they plan to implement in the future. They also shared with the group some of the amazing emergency resources they are able to provide for community members.

Mahogany Barnhardt—President and Shelter Manager for the newly opened Golden Touch Housing & Support Services—spoke to group members about how the organization came to be and their mission. Their goal-based support program is already helping multiple people. Their housing support system is already at capacity and they have a growing waiting list of community members seeking assistance. We are happy to announce that they were Uplift’s Quarterly Grant winner for Q3!

We again want to say a big THANK YOU to both organizations and their teams for all that they do and taking time out of their busy schedules to come speak to our group.
