Meet Milton.

Milton hopes you'll donate some dog and cat food during the Small Town Maker’s Market at The Aswell House in Ville Platte on Saturday, September 26th.

Milton has a home with his family at The Acosta Foundation's Aswell House.

But, Milton knows many other cats and dogs aren't as lucky as he is.

So, while Milton is jumping, climbing, playing, and roughhousing with his buddies, other dogs and cats are trying to find their next meal. All Milton has to do is show up at his back door twice a day for scheduled meals.

Milton is asking for you to come to the Small Town Maker's Market and bring some dog and/or cat food, wet or dry, that will be donated to area pet rescue organizations. Every donation receives an entry into the drawing for a prize pack. Each bag of food or flat of cans receives an entry.

Do it for Milton. He's counting on you to help his underprivileged friends.

The Acosta Foundation has a special announcement about our first Small Town Maker’s Market on September 26th! We are adding a canned goods and non-perishable collection point. All donations to this food drive will be sent to Evangeline Parish food pantries. When you donate on September 26th, you will be entered into a drawing for a special prize pack!

Check your cabinets and pantries for unexpired, non-perishable food items and canned goods. You can also purchase items from your favorite supermarket. The Acosta Foundation is partnering with Teet's Food Store during their Best Choice canned goods sale happening now. Buy some for yourself and grab a few for our area friends and neighbors in need. We'll see you on September 26th at The Aswell House, 1111 West Main Street in Ville Platte for our first Small Town Maker's Market!

Our first Small Town Maker’s Market is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026 beginning at 9:00am at The Aswell House, 1111 West Main Street in Ville Platte.

We'll have vendors from Evangeline Parish south to Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and St. Gabriel...North to Pineville, Dry Prong, and Colfax...East to Marksville and Lettsworth...West to Jennings and many towns in between!

Vendors will be outdoors on the front lawn. Others will be inside of Aswell House. In addition to a variety of vendors, The Acosta Foundation will be having a HUGE yard sale spanning a large section of the side yard and driveway. Our storage rooms are full of goodies and treasures, so you won't be disappointed! There will be music, food, surprises, and family fun! If you're from here, we can't wait to see you and catch up. If you're from out of town, make the drive to Ville Platte! We can't wait to meet you!
