There are some more new additions to both of our community gardens today! Villa Rica High School Sophomore Jake Harris helped put together two bins with locks to store our tools and materials so they are available to anyone who is able to go by and help take care of our gardens. Thank you, Jake, for spending some of your break helping us improve our gardens.

Our WIC office community garden (located behind the VR Police Dept) was cleaned out today and winter vegetables were planted. We have arugula, Romaine, Collard greens, and Kale as well as some fresh mulch. We appreciate Villa Rica High School alumni Will Orr for helping us get our winter garden ready. These veggies will be ready in just a few weeks.🥬🪏

Our club is extremely proud to support Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation as they provide critical vision care to Georgia’s students and those who are uninsured or underinsured. We also collect eyeglasses to donate to their eyeglasses recycling project. It was a great night at Evening in the End Zone celebrating tho work being done to help others.

We are so incredibly grateful for all of the support our community showed us at last night at our concert! All of our generous sponsors, vendors, Andrew Huggins, Lions who volunteered, Bay Springs Wildcats Beta and Pearls volunteers, Pro Sound Productions, and those who came out to hear Departure - The Journey Tribute band helped make this night the most memorable yet. We thank each of you for believing in our mission to help serve others. Because of each of you we will be able to continue all the projects we have planned including vision screenings/eye care for children, community gardens, diabetic awareness, childhood cancer assistance, scholarships for seniors, and many more! We appreciate you!

We’re out here and ready for Departure - The Journey Tribute! Gates open at 5:30 p.m. at The Mill Amphitheater in downtown Villa Rica!

Although we are in full concert mode and every member is stepping up to help with our Departure - The Journey Tribute concert tomorrow - October 3, our service doesn’t stop. We spent this week at Temple Elementary School and Whitesburg Elementary School screening 594 students and referring 80 students for further testing. We are continuing our mission to provide vision screenings and access to eye care for students in our community.

Please join us tomorrow night to help support this project and others that our Lions are passionate for serving!
