One is not defined from past circumstances; rather the past provides valuable lessons. Yet, for the orphan living in poverty, insecurity and loneliness can be debilitating. A child needs hope and people who will support and nurture their well-being. Often they are being pushed to the side and ignored. This is happening right here in America. The U. S. Census Bureau reports there are 120,000 orphans in the United States, and 400,000 children live without permanent families. Together we can change this path!
Hope is on the way! The vision of The Sower’s House is to provide a Christian faith based home and community that will house up to three-hundred (300) children and one-hundred (100) widows with the comforts and surrounding that will promote a family living lifestyle. We will provide numerous programs for the residents, ranging from certified teaching programs to life guidance. The goal is to not only put a roof over their heads, but to minister and mentor the whole person. The Sower’s House has partnered with Joy Ministries Inc. and together, along with your support, we will launch the first pilot program in the Hampton Roads Community of Virginia located on the east coast epicenter of military activity. Along with a huge Navy footprint, the region hosts major Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard facilities. In particular, the pilot program will focus on offering housing to military widows and orphans. Since the global war on terrorism began in 2001, over 3,500 spouses have become widow/widowers, and 5,000 children have lost their parents. Will you sow a seed into The Sower’s House program?
