Villa Bark was started in 2013 by a member of the community of Villa Park, Illinois. This group was started as the founder, who had worked with animals for over a decade, was severely disturbed by the large amount of animals being euthanized around the country. The eventual goal of Villa Bark is to open its own cage less shelter that will reenact an "everyday home" so we can foster large amounts o
f pets at one time. This gives us an advantage of knowing what a pets personality is like prior to adoption. We would also like to employ former non-violent drug offenders who would like a second chance at starting a new life. We believe pets are the best therapy for transition. Villa Bark wants to stress the bond between animals and humans and how important it is for rehabilitation. Villa Bark would like to employ and help heal those who are recovering drug addicts. Villa Bark feels that animals are the best rehabilitation. When you come home and feel depressed, your pets wont judge you, they'll just love you! At this current time we are filling out tax paperwork to become a non for profit organization. We ARE NOT a non for profit, officially, just yet.
