Vienna Community Teachers Association-CTA The Vienna CTA is a community of teachers. We will be using this page to highlight important events happening with our members, organization, and in education.

The Vienna CTA works closely with MSTA (Missouri State Teachers Association) to support teachers as well as the education system in Missouri.

It’s May and that means teacher appreciation week is right around the corner. We’re going to use this page to highlight our members.

Say Hola to our Spanish teacher Bonnie Brainard. She has been in education for 34 years, 3 of which have been with Maries R-1. She is proud to say that in her 34 years of education she has been able to help make a difference to others. Her favorite part about school are the interactions that she gets to have with students and staff. Outside of school she likes to travel. If she were not a teacher she would be traveling!

It’s May and that means teacher appreciation week is right around the corner. We’re going to use this page to highlight our members.

Nichoel Snodgrass is our amazing preschool teacher. She has been at Vienna for 5 years, this year being her first as a certified teacher and she is rocking it! She is proud to say that the preschool schedule has been revamped to allow for more small group time. This has helped to lead to our youngest eagles make a huge amount of progress! Her favorite thing about school is that everyone is willing to help out at any given time.
Outside of school she loves to spend time with her family on the water. They often visit the Gasconade River and Table Rock Lake. If she was not a teacher she would be a photographer.

Thank you Nichoel for all that you do to guide our youngest learners. We appreciate you SO much!

Maggie Wieberg is one of the MS teachers this year. She has been teaching for 3 years, this is her first year at Vienna. She is proud to say that she started a STEM program from scratch at her last school district. Her favorite thing about school is watching the students work hard and accomplish more than they previously thought that they could. Outside of school she likes to play piano. If she was not a teacher she would be working at a library or teaching music lessons.

Tom Evers teaches some of our HS science classes. He has been in education for 4 years. He is proud to say that the scores from last year's EOC's were the same as the state average in Algebra 1. WAY TO GO! His favorite thing about school is getting to know the students and staff. Outside of school he likes to fix things like cars and appliances. If he wasn't teaching he would be working on his house.

Jennifer Massman is the Special Education Teacher for the elementary. She has been at Maries R-1 for 5 years. This is her first year as the special education teacher and she is doing a fantastic job! Her favorite part about school is watching students grow. She is proud that she has been able to play a part in changing the lives of her students. Outside of school she likes to spend time with her family. If she were not a teacher she would be a babysitter.

Carrie Kleffner works with our students that receive speech services. This is her first year and she is doing a wonderful job! She is proud when she can see progress being made by her students. Her favorite thing about school would be the people within the walls! Outside of school she likes to travel. If she were not in education she would a real estate agent that also helps to decorate homes to look fabulous!

Megan Wansing has been a teacher for 3 years. This is her first year at Vienna and she is doing a wonderful job! She is proud to say that she puts making relationships with students top priority. Her favorite thing about school is that each day is different and that the middle school kids usually have funny jokes to share! Outside of school she likes to spend time with her family on the farm. If she were not a teacher she would be a stay at home mom that gets to farm full time.

It's the start of National Nurses week and we cannot let that go without sending a huge THANK YOU to CTA member and school nurse Lindsay Otto. We are so blessed to have Lindsay here taking such good care of our students. Lindsay has been with Maries R-1 for 6 years. She goes above and beyond to provide care for our students and it's no surprise to hear that she is proud to say that she helps to meet student's needs every day and works to teach students and staff about leading a healthy lifestyle. Her favorite thing about school is the kids! If she wasn't working at Maries R-1 she would want to help train the future nurses of the medical field as a nursing instructor or by being a mentor to other nurses. When she is not at school she likes to garden

We are so incredibly lucky to have Lindsay with us and taking such care of us. We appreciate you Lindsay and all that you do for our students, staff, and community!

Mandy Mickem has been growing readers at Maries R-1 for the past 8 years. She has been in education for 20 years. Her favorite thing about school is the kids! She is proud to say that she completed her Master's in Reading after stopping and starting for 13 years due to time constraints. When she's not at school you can find Mrs. Mickem outside! She likes to go swimming, hiking, kayaking, and biking. If she were not a teacher she would be writing or editing. Did you know Mrs. Mickem is an author? She wrote a book about her son Chance called Puffy, Squiggy, and the Chance of a Flu Shot.

Jennifer Freeman is one of the 5th grade teachers at Maries R-1. She has been in education for 24 years all of them here at Maries R-1. Her favorite thing about school is being with the kids and getting to hear their ideas. She also likes to socialize with her wonderful team members. Over her 24 years of teaching she is proud to say that has built solid relationships with her students. Outside of school she likes to spend time playing online games. If she wasn't a teacher she would be spending every possible moment with her granddaughters!
