We acknowledge the invaluable contribution of The H.H. & Edna Houseman Charitable Trust in facilitating the clearing of our property and signage. A site visit from committee members Jay Killgo and Jim Turnbo on Monday allowed us to share our progress. We are thankful for their support and proud to perpetuate the Houseman name through Garlyn Place's mission to improve the lives of adults with disabilities.

Today marks a significant milestone for Garlyn Place. We are unable to express the immense joy we feel upon seeing our sign erected and completed. As you travel down the Old HWY 90 between Rose City and Vidor, it will be clear that Garlyn Place is a prominent destination, as this image unequivocally conveys that something new and exciting is happening in Orange County. We extend our gratitude to H.H. & Edna Houseman Charitable Trust, Hancock Whitney, and W&B Enterprise, LLC.

The Junior League of Beaumont extends its support to numerous nonprofit organizations throughout southeast Texas. Garlyn Place was honored to be chosen as one of many organizations for the 2026 recipient of the JLB Community Assistant grant, enabling us to establish a sensory zen room in our Unite Day Program, which will commence operations in June. Yesterday, Brenna and Sarah from JLB visited our facility and shared the joy of understanding the profound impact this room will have on those we serve. We thank them for believing in our mission and look forward to a lifelong partnership.

The Uniters had a great time at Garlyn Place, engaging in various activities such as baking, labeling tin candles, preparing plug candle wicks, playing Farkel, and welcoming Alex, a new friend. This gathering marked the last meeting at Patricia's home before the Unite Day Program moves to Pine Forest Baptist Church. Registration is still open. Given the limited space, please enroll your loved one by emailing [email protected].
