Mr. Derrick Carson of Lasalle Community Action will be at the Ferriday Library from 9 - 2 to help selective households with limited income reduce their energy cost.

Patrons must be over 18, bring a proof of income and social security card to apply.

Tomorrow is the last day to put in an application for the Christmas Toy Assistance program through St. Mary’s Parish Ministries. Applications will be accepted from 10:00 - 1:00. Stop by St. Mary’s Family Life Center to apply.

With the uncertainty of SNAP benefits for the month of November, we are anticipating a bigger need to help individuals provide meals for their families. If you’d like to make a donation financially to the Community Fridge, you can do so through First Baptist Vidalia (please notate its for the fridge). If you’d like to donate items you can put them directly in the fridge or pantry outside or you can come by during office hours and place items inside to be distributed.

If you are someone who is in need please stop by and see what is available. We run solely off donations so we provide as much as we can to as many as we can, but we can’t guarantee that we will have food all month so please don’t bank on this as your only resource.

Huge thank you to not only all of the kids that donated at the FBCV VBS this year, but also to Riverside Baptist Church for collecting items and money for the community fridge ministry. Without donations like these, this ministry wouldn’t be what it is! ❤️

Today while Kelly & her daughter stocked the donations from their VBS, they were able to meet some visitors of the pantry and hear just how thankful they were in person!

The overflow area where we stock our dry/canned goods is getting low and our cold & frozen foods overflow is completely bare. This ministry is completely donation based, both monetarily and by receiving food directly from others. Our account is very low on funds donated. If you are looking for a local ministry to contribute to, please consider the community fridge at First Baptists Vidalia. Not only do we stock the outside area, but individuals or families in need who come to the church in need of food, we supply them with items as well. To those who contribute monthly, please know your continued support is appreciated by so many!

🚨 PLEASE remember to check expiration dates before placing items in the pantry/fridge for donation🚨

I had to remove these items, the oldest dates back to 2015!

While we run strictly off donations and funds donated to purchase food, we ask that you please check the dates so others don’t consume the expired food and potentially become ill.

A local restaurant donated several orders of food that was not picked up and the remaining food they had prepared for lunch that wasn’t used. We were able to make multiple plates for the community fridge! How awesome!

Please remember, ONLY take what you NEED! Please leave something for the next person.

If you own a restaurant locally and are disposing of perfectly good food because you have no where to take it, contact us! We can make plates for those who are in need!
